"John! John I need you to stay with me." Reyna said while slapping his face. "Jason go find Gwen. Now!"

John was a broken and bloody mess on the grassy plains of New Rome. A deep wound under his left armpit was bleeding profusely. The sight made me think about when the wolves would tear a part a live deer. All the deer could do was look helplessly in the sky and wait as they died slowly.

Its why I would avoid watching the wolves eat. I waited for the aftermath when they were all done. I guess it makes sense why Lupa would force me to watch sometimes. She must have been preparing me for this. At least I wasn't throwing up anymore.

Reyna was desperately trying to keep him awake, as John himself tried getting her attention. I was going to argue he was gone, but I knew better then that. I did as she commanded and flew off to find Gwen.

The legion had joined the battle, successfully pushing the enemy back. The cruise ship seemingly had an endless supply of reinforcements when we first assaulted the fleet of ships, but the legion was a force to be reckon with. Snake women with two snake tails as legs, giant bear like humanoids, hell hounds, and rogue demigods all pushed helplessly against the Romans superior coordination and skill. Max lead the assaults' from the back of Hannibal, shouting orders and words of encouragement. Shield bearers held their ground and pushed the enemy back towards the shoreline. Legionnaires with spears stabbed and poked to discourage or eliminate assaults attempting to push through their ranks. Covering the rear were legionnaires armed with swords fending off monsters that attempted to flank the frontal assault. Bronk on his floating platform shouting insults from above.

Sam was still fighting against the giant squid that was unleashed from underneath the cruise ship. Earlier, while flying back and forth above the cruise ship, I could of sworn they referred to the monster as the "Seaweed Brain Deterrent". I couldn't help but be curious about the oddly specific name, wondering who could warrant a sea monster to counter them. While they battled, the curise ship began turning around, attempting to escape.

I scanned the battle field for signs of Gwen. My head snapped when a light flashed in the midst of the battle below. I flew over the scene, dreading every second.

Every monster or demigod struggled against the force of the legion, but not Luke. He was a demon in battle. Gwen was on the ground, gathering arrows while Luke dismantled every legionnaire who dared challenged him. He must have been a child of Mercury with the speed he fought with. He made well trained legionnaires look like children. Even other children or descendants of Mercury with speed to match would crumble to his pure skill.

I landed in front of Luke, who had just finished embarrassing a fellow legionnaire.

Luke eyes narrowed when he saw me. "Nice superhero landing. Y'know I still owe you for cracking my skull and giving me a concussion." He waved his sword. "Did you want me to school you with my sword or..."

He stabbed his sword in the sand and raised his fist. "With my fist."

The legionnaires in my vicinity looked to me, waiting to  see my reaction. Some even offered their swords.

Something was off, Luke was being too confident for someone on the losing side of battle. His cruise was turning to run, his forces were being decimated.... Something wasn't right.

"Your stalling." I responded.

Luke scrunched his eyebrows then laughed. "And here I thought Reyna was the brains. Didn't think that hard head of yours could see right through me." He sarcastically looked at his wrist, which held no watch. "Any minute now and New Rome will be nothing more then coals for blazing hot Greek fire."
