"Nein!" A sharp voice called out. I ran over to my plane only to discover a few bodies that lied close by. I had to maneuver one away from the landing gear. I picked his shirt collar up and drug his body off into the grass next to the apron. It looked as if he had been shot due to the fact that bullet wounds were clearly visible. When my eyes looked at the sky it was evident that today would be gloomy. The color was gray, a very deep gray. Even the German sky was acting in repulsive behavior. I couldn't mess up because one wrong move could end my own life. That hurts to know...
Once I reached 6000 feet I leaned back into my seat when I heard a female voice over the frequency. "Hallo! Hallo Deutschland! Mein Freunde. Ich habe zehn Piloten mit mich. Wir kommen aus Amerika und wir dich helfen!" At first, I thought it was one of those hoaxes by some government, but I realized that was not the case. My plane continued to head east to Berlin. The American pilots seem to be following the Luftwaffe.
"Kannst du mir helfen bitte?" I asked politely as a Mig-28 passed me. I lost him out of my sight when an American jet flew next to me. It pulled up right next to my plane then faded off to the side and shot the Mig down. Whoever it was was really good. There were some deep patches of turbulence that my plane hit causing a jerk.
Getting to Berlin is quite easy. However, since the shutting down of airspace it has become a little bit more difficult. It takes forever to request to land on the runways. I understand because of what has been happening. It's always scary because they may invade us at any moment. There's so much air patrol around Europe it's kind of ridiculous. Whatever needs to be done for protection is a pure necessity.
I got out of my plane and walked over to check the outside of it. "Hey." A familiar female voice said. I turned and no one was there. At that second I decided I was making things up. I thought my mind was curating some voice that ceased to exist. "Nick..." the voice said very quickly and quietly. I continued to ignore it, but it began to speak again, "Nicholas..." I finally turned around. I realized it was indeed Marion. She smiled and bit her bottom lip. Her eyes sparkled in the sunlight when she took off the pair of RayBan aviators she was wearing. The way her hair blew in the wind reminded me of the waves on a nice breezy day. The way she looked at me was very heartwarming. I began to respond to her, "Hey. I missed you. It's been like a week. I'm surprised you were able to come back."
I finished walking around the plane. "Right, Uhm... they only want me over here. At the rate this is going I'm the best American pilot they've got. I had to persuade them to allow me to come back here. This is our only inlet point to literally half of Europe. Germany is our place to shine, our place to finally shut down the three major countries." Her steps closely followed mine while I could feel her beady eyes staring at me. "I don't want to sound cocky or anything, but that's what I was told."
I faced her and she walked closer in a very slow manner. "Marion, you're never cocky. That's so true, so it's not being arrogant if it's true. It's finer than a dime." I found my face blushing pink and red all at the same time. Planes rumbled as they took off and landed. The sky got darker and darker as the seconds passed by.
"You know, America is planning to invade Russia and I'm going to be one of the pilots that do it. I'm scared, but that's what I've been called to do". She tried to display a smile, but it was fake. "This is going to be just like Chernobyl." Her eyes had a deep longing for help in them. "How about we just forget about all this for a second?" I said as I walked closer to her. She shyly brushed her hair behind her ear then looked at the ground. "Hey, it's alright. The Luftwaffe told me the exact same thing. We have the same plan that all of the allies do. Just please trust me on this one. I've been warned and nothing has been done. My commander has no remorse for anyone so this might be bad." I said as my eyes wandered her sad figure. "Marion!" I caught her in my arms as she passed out. I put her over by the back landing gear of the plane. Her back leaned against the three foot tire.
In the back of my mind I remembered the morphine shots. I still had them in my backpack. I pulled one out just as she opened her eyes. "Marion..." I began to speak, but she interrupted with, "Nick... I can't..." Her head nodded yes. I was getting used to this so I pulled the cap off the needle. The shot sat so perfectly in between my fingers. She took a deep breath before she mumbled a little. I went ahead and administered the shot. She slowly stood up and met me in a hug. "Mm I miss you so much." She said, "I was so sad." Our faces met perfectly together In a slow kiss. Her hand pushed against my chest and my arm held her around her back as we gave each other a nice hug. "Nick..." she whispered. "Please don't ever die." I nodded and we continued to stare off into the distance. Her small hand ran through my hair when she backed away.. My fingers twisted her hair in a delicate way, trying to make her natural curls show through more. "Marion! Who the..." his voice was sharp -so sharp I could tell it hurt her.
