Avery's POV
"We're what!!" Alexia said
"We're staying here for the time being they need our help" Riley said
"They kidnapped us" Alexia said
"Yes and they apologized" Riley pointed out
"They almost killed my ma-" Alexia started to say but stopped herself Riley put her hands on Alexia's shoulders and looked her in the eyes "I know what they almost did but they were operating off of fear the same way we have been operating for the longest" Riley said Alexia huffed and sat down next to he sister who patted her on the shoulder.
"Forgive me but I'm not exactly a fan of them either I mean I get staying here it beats sleeping in the woods but why exactly do we have to help them" Roy said making a good point
"Well because-" Riley tried saying but was cut off
"Yeah sis this sounds kind of backwards I mean they owe us at least a place to stay for wrongfully accusing us but we don't owe them a thing" Gabriel said Riley looked at me with a look as if to say help me as they all started arguing. "Now would be a good time to practice being the Alpha" a voice that sounded an awful lot like Riley's said in my head I looked around confused,
"Ahh so you can hear me I see something kicked in, I know your probably thinking how is this possible so let me tell you real quick, by me being your beta I have the ability to make a private connection with you in your head allows us to speak without actually speaking you can do this with your whole pack as well think of it as a telepathic group chat but right now with just you and me"
I looked at her in shock this was crazy but kind of awesome "how do I" I mouth to her unsure of how to speak back.
"Just think of something you want to say and direct it towards me" she said in my head
"If they're not listing to you what makes you think they'll listen to me" I said to Riley through our link
"Your they Alpha I'm just the second in command when your not around when you are my word means nothing" she explained
"Yeah but I'm not they're Alpha yet until I take down Gerard right?" I questioned
"Avery we learned something today that Your the Alpha of all Alphas which means you have Authority over every pack no matter if they have an Alpha already or not" she said
"That's kind of cool so I'm like the boss of the bosses?" I asked
"Basically yeah" she said
"Ok but if this doesn't work it's on you" I said she smiled and nodded so I stood up and went to her side
"Guys!!" I yelled gaining their attention immediately
"Look shes right helping them is the right thing to do so we're going to do it it's better to have Allies then Enemies" I said confidently Roy , Gabriel and Lexie immediately agreed and so did Alexia but with more of an attitude like always.
"Ok we stay here tonight then figure out the rest in the morning" I said they all nodded in agreement.
"The Confidence was a nice touch" Riley said I smiled
Just then a woman walked up to us she was gorgeous and tall and you could tell she works out a lot I did not recognize this woman at all so I was pretty confused when she hugged Riley as I stood there awkwardly while she talks to the others after about a minute or two she finally noticed me standing there and came over to greet me.
"I see your all healed up" she said
"Im Penny the beta wolf of this pack and a recently not dead friend of Riley's" she said with a warm smile before extending her hand to me I took it and she took me by surprise by bringing my hand up to her lips and kissing it, I blushed a little just then I heard a low but throat shaking growl from Alexia.
Penny looked over at her then back at me. And made a face like she suddenly just realized something. "Oooh I see here she's your mate" Penny said Alexia shot up and got in Pennys face as I stood there unsure of what a mate even was.
"No I just don't like you" Alexia said balling up her fist
"Oh so what if I did this" Penny said before stepping up to me and kissing me on the cheek I was shocked as my cheeks went red. Alexia growled and as soon as Penny stepped away from me Alexia tackled her to the ground it took Roy , Gabriel and Riley to get her off of her on the other hand Penny was calm.
"Calm down Alexia geez she didn't know" Roy said still holding her back
"Whatever let go of me dick head" she snapped before storming off.
"I'll go after her" Lexie said but I stopped her
"No I'll go" I said before going after her.
I walked around looking for her for a good minute that was until I spotted her under her tree sitting down as she leaned her back up against it. She looked so beautiful as the shade from the tree covered her and her hair hung to the side. I walked over and sat down next to her.
"What do you want" she said rolling her eyes
"To make sure your ok" I replied she glanced at me then went back to looking at the sky. We sat in silence for a moment that was until I spoke. "Fun fact when I was younger did you know I use to want to be a pilot" I said but got no response she was ignoring me I sighed
"Alexia just talk to me" I said Just then she turned towards me and glared. "I don't want you here go away" she said and for some reason it hurt way more than it should've I looked down at the ground. Then back up at her
"You know what your a dick you know" I said before getting up and storming off now I was the one mad.
Alexia POV
After snapping at her I instantly felt bad and regretted the words I said I watched as she stormed off.
"Why are you being mean to our mate" My wolf Nila asked in my head
"leave me alone Nila I don't have time for your whining" I said
"We'll make time Alexia we've wanted a mate for so long and now that we finally found her your pushing her away" Nila said
"She doesn't want us" I said
"How do you know that you haven't even given her a chance" Nila said I was mad but I knew Nila was right I just don't want to take another heartbreak being rejected over and over hurts I'm convinced if it happens again it will surely kill me. Just then Roy came strutting up to me "Get Up" he said
"Who are you to tell me what to do"
"I'm your friend jackass and I care about you so get up" he said I looked at him shocked but did as he said
"I know your scared that you'll get rejected but I also know that you love her even though you barely know her, she's new to all this Alexia she knows close to nothing about this whole wolf thing so give her a chance" he said
"Oh wow amazing speech really, It touch the bottom of my heart" I said Sarcastically
"Go tell her that she's you mate" he said completely ignoring what I just said he then walked away before I had a chance to abject I sighed "time to get rejected" I said to myself before going off to go find Avery.
