Grace's POV
I put my phone on airplane mode after making the post and put it into my phone because I'm not ready to deal with what the backlash is going to be of going public with Demi, even if it's not confirming a romantic relationship.
"Max is going to drive us around, he's out front." Demi spoke to me.
"Oh, alright!" I replied back to her. "That kinda sucks. I wanted to walk around with you."
Demi grabbed my hips and pulled me into her. "I know baby, it's just hard with the paparazzi and fans finding out where we are. Trust me, you won't have fun once that happens."
"I know. I'm not mad about it. I just wish for your sake, you could experience the normalcy and excitement of just walking the streets of NYC." I leaned in and gave her a sweet kiss.
"Well, you'll have to take me to Michigan where no one will expect me to be there so we can just be normal people there." She said with a wink.
I smiled at the thought of bringing her to my hometown and I agreed. We made our way to the car where I greeted Max.
"You must be special. I don't know the last time she's keep a girl around for this long." Max cackled.
I furrowed my eyebrows at the comment, obviously wondering how many different girls she has entertained. I saw Demi send Max daggers through her eyes as she placed her hand on my inner thigh. I looped my arm under hers and decided to just let the comment go because it wasn't worth the possible argument, and after last night, we needed nothing but a good day.
"Can you drop us off at Blue Bottle Coffee?" Demi asked Max.
"Brooklyn?!" I asked, excited. "I thought maybe you'd want to stay closer by your place. Brooklyn is my side of town."
"I figured if we go to Brooklyn, we could do more walking around since it's a lot more low key. Less chance of getting recognized." She said with a smile.
"That's okay with me! I can show you around the places I usually go."
We made our way to the coffee shop and said our goodbyes to Max, and if I'm being honest, I'm so happy that he's leaving and I get to be normal with Demi. Hopefully, we have no true problems. We made our way inside and got a table.
"You know, this is literally my go to coffee shop. I was so shocked when you suggested coming here. We are three minutes from my apartment. Do you want to stop by and meet Penelope when we leave here?"
"Yes, I would love to! But now I'm nervous." Demi said, widening her eyes which made me laugh.
"You have nothing to be nervous about! She's going to be so excited."
Our coffees and bagels came out. I snapped a picture of Demi with her coffee, which is something I'm always going to keep doing. I want as many pictures of this girl and with this girl that I can get. We got lost in conversation about anything and everything, and it really clicked in my head how much she makes me laugh and how much I make her laugh. We both are always making something into a joke, or have a witty come back, or laughing at something that we probably shouldn't. It feels so refreshing to have the same sense of humor as someone.
"Tell me more about your family, and your friends." I said to Demi.
"I have my mom and dad, obviously." She let out a slight laugh. "Well, my step dad, but he's pretty much my father. I have my sisters Dallas and Madison. Madison is going to be so obsessed with you."
"Why's that?!"
"I just know it. You guys have such similar vibes. I just know you'll be two peas in a pod."
