Demi's POV
Two months have flown by. Both Grace and I have been so busy but also getting so much done and accomplished. Grace only is working Monday's at the hospital, 6am-6pm. Tuesday's she's studying in a study group with other kids studying to take the NCLEX on campus of UCLA. She started modeling for Skims, which she looks and does fucking amazing, and now collaborating with Kylie to do shots for her make up line. She's gone pretty much all week long, but so am I. We are finalizing everything up for this album, we've been filming music videos, and I've done so much press to promote this new album. Tour hasn't been announced yet, but we are planning on doing that soon. 4th of July weekend was approaching, and I wasn't too sure what our final plans were. Grace's family is in town and staying with us. I haven't seen much of Grace this week. She's so busy with her schedule and then when she comes home, she spends time with her family and has been sleeping with Penelope so they can have their "sleepovers."
I get it, but it's been a few days of this and now I'm starting to feel it. I don't get much of her attention besides quick kisses or little texts, and I'm starting to just miss my girlfriend.
It's Friday night, and I've been at work all day. I am just now getting home, coming through my front door.
I heard voices, assuming it was Grace's family.
"Hi, sweetheart!" I was greeted by Kathleen in my kitchen. She opened her arms and I accepted her warm hug. "I'm making chicken bayou pasta. Grace was craving it. How're you?"
"That sounds so good. I'm starving. I'm good, I'm just exhausted. It's been a long week but I'm glad I have the weekend off." I told her as she returned back to cooking. "Do you know when Grace will be home?"
"She's been home for hours now, honey." Her mom told me, getting lost in cooking.
I was shocked to hear this, checking my phone again to see if I missed any messages from her. I didn't though. She hadn't responded to my message from way earlier this morning, and I felt a little weird that she didn't update me about her day.
I made my way to the living room, seeing Grace and her siblings all on the couch, underneath blankets and laughing hysterically.
"Demi! Hi!" Kai said as he popped up and ran up to me. I picked him up, giving him a good squeeze.
"Hi, buddy! Whatcha up to?" I asked as I put him back down.
"We went to Target and got a switch to keep here for you and Grace. We are playing fortnite."
I looked up at the TV, seeing that they were in fact playing fortnite.
"Hi, Dems." I heard my girlfriends sweet voice, immediately making my heart melt. I looked over to see her holding her arms up and puckering her lips. I made my way to her, leaning down to hug her. She wrapped her arms tightly around my shoulders, and I kissed her neck a few times lightly. We pulled back and she connected our lips.
"Hi, baby." She whispered against my lips.
Fuck. Everything I was just previously feeling was gone. Two seconds of attention from this girl is all I need.
"Hi, Graz." I whispered back. I gave her another kiss, and then stood back up. Grace turned her attention back to the tv, it now being Carson's turn to play fortnite.
"I'm gonna go upstairs and change. Grace, do you want to take a quick shower with me?"
"Ew, god, no. No! She doesn't." Carson said loudly, making everybody laugh.
"You heard him. I guess the answers no." Grace laughed along with her siblings. I tried to laugh along, giving Grace a weak smile.
Damn it Carson. I thought we were closer than this.
