Demi's POV

The bathroom light shining into the bedroom woke me up. My eyes were incredibly heavy, and my head was pounding. I noticed the bed next to me was empty, and that's when I heard Grace shuffling around the bathroom.

"Baby?" I called out, but didn't get a response. I slowly sat up, unable to fully wake up. "Grace, what's wrong?" Grace made her way out of the bathroom, fully dressed.

"Hi. I'm sorry. Do you have a heating pad?"

"No, I don't think I do."

Grace sighed, tears starting to pour out of her eyes.

"Gracie, come here! What's going on?" I asked, wanting desperately to hold her. I feel so confused by her behavior, and want to know why she's so upset.

"I know I sound so dramatic right now. It's just that my periods are so bad sometimes and my cramps are actually out of this world. I can't sleep and everything hurts so bad and I just want to lay on a heating pad."

"I'm sorry I don't have on-"

"I'm going to go buy one."

"What?!" I questioned. "Grace, it's like 2 in the morning. You're not going anywhere."

"Yes I am! There's a CVS literally right on the corner. I'll be back in 15 minutes."

I stood up out of the bed, feeling upset with this conversation. "You're not going anywhere right now!" I walked towards her, trying to stop her.

"Demi!" She yelled out. "Please! I feel like shit and I just want a heating pad. I'm more than capable of going to CVS by myself. Please don't forget that I'm an adult and I lived on my own long before you came into the picture."

Grace stormed past me and out the bedroom door. I audibly sighed, feeling incredibly annoyed and also worried. She just doesn't understand that things are different now that she's in the public eye. Paparazzi is always looking out and there are crazy people and fans always on the hunt.

I laid back down, tracking her location the entire time. She was at CVS for about 20 minutes, and at this point I knew I wouldn't fall back asleep until she got back home. My head was still pounding from crying last night, and my eyes felt so heavy still but I went downstairs and decided to make Grace some sleepy time tea, which would hopefully help her relax and fall back asleep.

Almost 30 had passed, and my heart was beating out of my chest. Her location kept moving, but it wasn't enough to ease my worry. It was 3:06am, and my girlfriend should be home with me.

I decided to call her and she picked up on the first ring.

"Graz: I'm sorry. I'm almost home. I'm literally about to pull into the driveway."

"Demi: I'm just glad you're safe."

"Graz: I got us... I got us Taco Bell. And McDonald's breakfast."

I laughed out loud at my girlfriend.

"Demi: It's 3am! You always keep me on my toes."

We hung up because she pulled into the driveway. Grace walked in with two bags of food and a CVS bag. I was wrapped up in a blanket on the couch. Grace walked towards me, her eyes bloodshot and puffy and her upper lip was red and swollen, my first indication to know she's been crying.

"Baby -" I whispered to her, "come here. What's going on?"

Grace set the food down on the coffee table and made her way to me. I opened the blanket and she straddled my hips, wrapping her arms around my neck. Sobs took over her body again, and my heart hurt for her. I lifted her shirt, using my nails to scratch her back, wanting to create any kind of comfort.
