"Where do you think you're going?" Violet giggled as arms wrapped around her waist and pulled her back into bed. She usually would have worried that this action may have ruined her hair or makeup but honestly, she couldn't give a shit as Nick's lips kissed the crown of her head.
"Work, my dad is freaking out and needs help but doesn't show it because he thinks I'm still traumatized by the incident" Violet answered. Violet touched Nick's hand that was placed on her hip and raised it to lace their fingers together.
"Do you really have to go?" Nick whined like a small child. Violet giggled and ruffled his bed hair. She knew that the queen wasn't really approving of him sleeping over at the cottage where security was much less than the one at Buckingham Palace but Nick somehow convinced her to stop pestering him or maybe she realized how much Violet needed him by her side that day.
"Yes, I feel bad for abandoning him, especially now that Indigo is in Brazil doing some new deal for the company" Violet pushed herself up on her elbows and looked down at Nick. He looked angelic with the early morning light streaming down the light curtains and on his face.
"Come on, get up" Violet pushed herself off the bed and held out a hand to Nick. He groaned annoyed but took her hand and let her pull him out of bed in his shorts. Nick leaned down and placed a kiss on Violet's lips. She was glad that after almost three years of dating Nick was not worrying about morning breath before he kissed her.
"Get dressed fast, I'm sure everyone is waiting for us to start breakfast" Violet pushed Nick in the bathroom's direction before tossing in a towel and some clothes for him to wear. In a matter of fifteen minutes, Nick was ready and fixing his collar as they left the room and walked down the stairs.
"Good morning" Violet greeted her family as she sat down on the dining table beside Pansy and in front of her mother. Peter's eyes lit up when he noticed that Violet was wearing outer clothes and not pajamas anymore. He reached his left hand and held it with his and gave it a little squeeze feeling proud of his little girl who got over trauma in a matter of days.
"Good morning" Emily Davies eyed her daughter's clothes with a look in her eyes that Violet could only identify as worry.
"Morning" Pansy and Linnea said together. Nick sat down beside Pansy and greeted everyone politely. Nick had told everyone to stop curtsying to him unless it was an official visit or if someone from his family was around because he felt awkward being curtsied to every second of the day.
"Are you going somewhere?" Emily asked her daughter. She placed down her toast and wiped her hands with a handkerchief. Violet raised her eyebrow at her mother as she took a sip of orange juice.
"Work, I've been away long enough" Violet answered placing her cup bag down on the table. Emily huffed and shook her head disappointed.
"You can't be serious" Emily groaned rubbing her forehead as if she had a headache. Violet was confused over her mother's behavior, what was so wrong with her going to work?
"You can't seriously think it was a good idea to go to work with your stalker still on the loose" Emily glared at her daughter. Violet huffed, she should have already known that her mother would oppose to her leaving the house, she barely even let her go to the garden without a bodyguard following behind her.
"I'll be fine, I can't let him pause my life. It can take months before they catch him and if I stay inside the house for one more day then I will go crazy and instead be locked up in an asylum instead" Violet bit back. She gulped down her juice and picked up a piece of toast and smoothed some butter on it.
