with the help of the mirrors, the couple was led to a mobile gate and before they knew it - they were back to walking through the rocky terrians that connected earth and vestoria.

it was a long walk before they actually came across anything and the journey was silent aside from dan trying to stir up conversations that didn't lead anywhere due to magnus' disintrest.

and his focus simply being elsewhere.

since landing on the island, magnus had began to feel strange around dan. his burning hatred for the preteen was gone and suddenly it had become easier to fake his feelings.. if that's what he was still calling it that is. the elder was confused and what's worse was he hadn't even been trying to control his feelings. they'd simply gotten the best of him as if he accepted them all on his own!..

magnus furrowed his brows at his thoughts and remembered all those moments back in the mirror verse, the ones where even he seemed all lovey.. 'no, i'm not falling for dan.. those times were all fake as well.."

and catching his boyfriends unusual behavior, the red streaked waves a hand in front of the elder's face which promptly snaps him out of it. magnus looks down at dan who chuckles.

"yo french fry, is everything okay?"

magnus smiles "yeah kouzo, im okay. i guess im just.." he quickly thinks of an excuse for his irrational behavior. "..worried about our friends."

dan giggles at the other's response finding it more than adorable & of course - oblivious to the small lie. "awe don't worry too hard about them! if there's anything to know about the awesome ones it's that we're fierce and tough in every situation! no exceptions!" kouzo pumped his hand as he spoke and when he paused in his speech he grabbed his boyfriend's hands into his own. "and if they really are in danger, with our combined strength, we'll be able to rescue them! I mean, did ya see how we were able to stop their controlled bakugan? if we can win against them, I'm sure we'll be able to withstand anything!"

the black haired chuckled slightly not helping to find the younger's excitement kind of.. cute. even if this all was all an act, magnus had to admit dan was seriously adorable at times! he squeezed his hands. "okay.. i guess that does help ease things down a bit.. thanks danny." even if their friends wasn't his main concern, dan's words still calmed him down. somehow.

"heh, anytime maggie!" dan grinned. a slight silence then followed both boys not having anything to say which was then broken by dan then pulling the elder into a hug seemingly out of nowhere.

magnus couldn't stop the blush spreading on his face even if he wanted to as the shorter boy wrapped his arms around his back and buried his face into his chest as he giggled. magnus took one step back and a smile creeped onto his face almost on his own. the black haired placed a hand on his boyfriends back, confused just as much as he was flustered.

"hey kouzo.. what's this about?'' mag laughed.

"i'm hugging you! do i need a reason to hug the coolest and strongest and smartest boyfriend in the whole wide world ?" dan giggled, his forehead pressed to the elder's beating heart. he then looked up at him and lightly tapped the bridge of the black haireds nose which in turn flustered him up even more! "not to mention.. cute!"

the 14 year old couldn't stop the smirk on his lips. he seriously didn't even think to! magnus chuckled and ruffled dan's dark brown hair before his intuition quickly came back and those dark thoughts flooded his mind once again.

'you don't love him.. what are you doing?'

his smile faded and he grumbled lowly before grabbing dan's hands and pulling him off slowly.

"hm?" kouzo looked up at him confused and magnus returned a fake smile so not to worry him.

"enough goofing around kouzo, we need to save your friends." the darkus brawler said, letting his hands go and walking back in order to find another gate.

"oh uhm.. right! okay." dan followed him by his side but that didn't stop him from feeling like something was off..

"okay, this one has to be it." kouzo said when they finally reached another mobile gate. but from the looks of it, this was definitely the one

the pink and purple spotted portal stood open for the two - but sticking out were various black shadowy veins as if welcoming them inside.

magnus & dan stood staring at it for just a couple seconds, one's mind racing knowing he'd be faced with the ultimate power one last time..
and the other eager to see his friends again. "well what are we waiting for? let's go rescue the others!" kouzo nearly stepped inside if it wasn't for mag taking hold of his wrist.

"hold it daniel.." magnus said before taking in a sigh. " before we go in there's.. something I should probably tell you."

"oh? okay." dan turned around and met sight with the taller's violet red eyes. "what's is it mag?"

the black haired then got to explaining most of what he's known. it's crazy he waited this long to tell, but who knew if he'd ever see dan again.. "this being we're up against, i've seen him in my dreams. his name is tiko and his ultimate goal is to control every corecell with his power.. what he wants to do with them, im not sure, but he wants me to join his side in order to make his goal possible.''

"tiko, huh?"
the boy in red put a finger to his chin as he processed everything magnus had just dropped on him. "so he was the bakugan that crashed our plane? the one that made our friend's bakugan evil?.. french fry, why did you wait this long to tell me?"

''because i wasn't sure if it was really him or just some silly dreams..!" magnus lied, though on his part, he didn't plan to tell dan either way but something made him drop it last minute..

and that something, was guilt.

"sorry dan.."

"hah, it's okay maggie. no need to apologize." kouzo shrugged taking mag's hand in his own. "now that i know what we're up against though, i'm sure it'll make us stronger! so, let's go save our friends!"

the taller boy nodded, sharing the same determination as his shorter boyfriend. dan gave him one more grin before leading him through the gate and walking in together.

it was strange but, magnus was more determined to save the younger's friends than getting his hands on the ultimate power..

he thought he would be more excited..

but the only thing he felt was the sadness knowing he would be leaving dan..

he thought.. he would be happy to leave him..
