episode 15

dan shun and magnus walked through a plaza in the city. it was one the crew's favorite places of the city, a buzzing area filled with shops and many people having a good time. while shun and dan did most of the talking, magnus stayed behind and listened in to anything he use against them. nothing. they just went on in a friendly conversation he tried his best to not be a part of

"you know, I've been thinking," shun said turning around to magnus as they walked "i wonder how benton will react now that you're our new requite"

"benton?" magnus asked "you mean ms. philomena's brother?"

"yup! that's the one" dan said "though i'm pretty sure you're well aware of him considering what you did to his lab" he laughed

the older held back a chuckle, it's safe to say he had no regrets "right"

that grin magnus then gave off made dan kouzo's heart flutter. he sighed with a smile before shaking his head and spotting a frozen yogurt place up ahead. the long line inside gave him an idea "you know what magnus, i'm really craving some frozen yogurt" he took 5 bucks out of his pocket and handed it over "could you be a dear and get some for us?"

magnus took the money and didnt think much of it "ok, what flavor?"

"any's fine"

magnus nods and made it his mission to get him the worst one there was before walking inside leaving dan and shun all alone

"frozen yogurt? are you kidding me dan?" shun asked "thats like.. the most bland food there is!"

"i know that, i'd settle for icecream anyday, i just need an excuse for us to be alone" the 12 year old explained. that was enough to get shun to shut up and listen in "oh?" the blond questioned and hearing anything like that did his mind go right excatly where dan was thinking but he still settled to ask; "what's wrong?"

dan kouzo took a deep breath. he looked around to see if anyone was looking and when he knew the coast was clear he dragged shun underneath a tree and grabbed him by the shoulders. straight to the point "i'm in love with magnus!" dan said almost in a panicked state

"wow, i was right..." and to think shun had to give a proper heads up before telling their newest member, all dan had to do was get him under a tree and be straight-forward

"i know! it started off as an admiration thing but it's been escalating and..!" dan kouzo stopped blabbering for a moment "wait a minute, you know?" he asked "is it that obvious?"

"um, a little" shun chuckled as he thought back at all those little moments pointing him to his conclusion. he tapped his chin "kinda crazy how i was the only one who noticed..."

"well i guess that makes sense" dan said as he let his shoulders go. he didn't mind hearing that but he'd surely hate what statement would come his way "so what should i do? should i tell him?" dan asks and looks over at the yogurt shop where the teen in question was still in line

"uh that might be a problem" the japenese boy awkwardly chuckles. not liking his tone of voice, dan looks back at him "...why?" dan asked with a suspicious look on his face

shun looks to his side and smiles from shame "i might have already told him.."

dan gasps "you what?!" he grabs his shoulders again making the other look back at him again and when he did he began to shake him "what do you mean you 'might have' did you, or did you not tell?!"

"y-yeah! yeah i told him" shun admitted

"what?!" although he got the truth out this was not something daniel liked hearing "why would you do that shun are you insane?!"

"s-stop shaking me and m-maybe i'll tell you!"

dan let's him go leaving the other to stumble back as he grabbed his head, all that shaking made him dizzy

"explain yourself shun" dan said with his arms crossed. never seeing this side of him, kazami is quick to tell

"i'm not really sure why i did it to be honest," shun sighed "i guess i just thought it was best if magnus knew"

"but you shouldn't have just told him without me knowing" the red streak boy said "friends don't just go around telling other people secrets like that"

"i know and i'm sorry" kazami sighed "but look at this way: magnus doesn't seem to mind and who knows, maybe he likes you too"

dan blushed "um, you never know that"

"exactly. that's for you to find out!"

speaking of which, as all this went down magnus finally made it out of the shop with three small bowls of frozen yogurt in his hand. he looked around for his supposed friends and when he found them under the lemon tree across the street, he walked over to them as they talked mid-conversation

"here's your guy's yogurt" magnus said and handed them their frozen treat. orange for them and strawberry-bannana for himself

"oh, thanks magnus" shun said looking down at the bowl. magnus succeeded in getting them the blandest flavor of the blandest food and shun didn't know what to feel. he tried his best to be positive about it though and took the spoon

"you're welcome, so, where we going next?" the black haired boy asked

"i was thinking we keep walking that way" shun said as he pointed behind them "what do you think dan?"

"oh uh, i-i think it sounds swell" dan replied and he giggled after saying that "erm, i meant to say sweet but i also wanted to say.. well?" he looked up at magnus who smiled back which resulted in a weird feeling in his stomach again.

just knowing the pressure that magnus knew was making him feel a strange sense of nerve he's never felt before. the closest he could compare it to was when he first got on camera however this was also different from that. maybe what shun said was true. maybe magnus didn't care that he liked him but what if he still thought he was a freak but was just good at hiding it? hes a boy after all and surely hearing the news that another boy likes you is weird? right? especially if that boy was your archnemesis for a long time. what if...

"hey, kouzo" the call of his name made him snap out of it. he was staring at his yogurt as he gripped the plastic cup with his two hands and didn't even notice it "you feelin' alright?" magnus asked

"y-yeah, i'm fine!" the boy in question lied. he didn't even look at magnus "i-it's just this summer weather is most likely getting to me" he took a spoonful of his dessert and stuffed himself, swallowing it before the spoon even left his mouth as shun and magnus watched. one was confused by his behavior and the other ashamed by what he did. making things awkward was the last thing shun wanted but he was sure by the little mistake he made, he caused it to be.

dan shuddered after eating enough spoonfuls to make his brain freeze, at least the butterflies in his stomach were gone. sort of.

"anyway shun's right, let's get going!" dan said and began to walk off. the two left behind exchanged glances before following

as they walked, magnus looked down at shun without the other noticing. he didn't need to be told,

but he knew exactly what happened here
