episode 4

like any other los volmos summer morning, the birds chirped, the sun shone and a battle overtook studio d's backyard.

dan kouzo was outside training his dragonoid as the rest of the ao sat indoors enjoying their morning with pancakes they ordered from the burger joint.

"maan these things really hit the spot!" wynton said munching on another bite of his syrup covered breakfast.

"they really are delicious." lia chuckled she then brought up a random topic in which all three members had a conversation about. their talk however was interrupted by a knock at the door.

"a visitor?" shun asked. "i wonder who it could be."

"i'll get it!" wynton jumped up from his seat and happily opened the door meeting eyes with an unexpected black haired visitor "emily?"

"hiya wynton." she greeted. her arrival made all the brawlers get up from their seat to greet her, even lightning jumped off the couch for head pats which emily gladly delivered.

"hey em, it's been so long but.. what exactly are you doing here?" lia asked watching as the younger girl kneeled to pet their furry friend.

"we just came by to pay a visit." emily replied.

"we?" after shun questioned her wording, a certain tall brawler came by and stood by his sister.

the three brawlers gasped at his presence, lightning growled at him.

"magnus? what do you want?!" wynton growled, they all took out their bakugan and their cowardice toward him almost made the 14 year old laugh. but, he saved it and instead put his hands on his hips and smiled, something the three also weren't expecting.

"i mean no harm, look, i even dressed nicely for the occasion" it was true, magnus' usual cloak and mask were gone and instead he wore a dark grey jacket over a green turtle neck. even his metal purple gloves were replaced for black fabric gloves.

"okay.." lia said eyeing him up and down. " but you still didn't answer our question, what do you want?"

"isnt it obvious!" he hissed but just as how quick his temper was released he quickly eased down. "i mean.. i thought about dan's offer, where is he?"

"like we'd ever tell you" wynton growled "just go, forget about what dan said we don't want you in our crew"

the black haired teen chuckled. their hatred for him really shined this beautiful morning it made the boy want to gear toward their trust even more

you see, magnus had zero interest in dan's petty offer at first but after realizing what potential advantage being a part of the ao had it's clear he would attempt recruitment. his goal was the core cell's power, the awesome ones worked for that benton dusk guy and since they are always around core cells being here had more ups than downs. he just had to deceive them into thinking he had good intentions though, and getting through lia and wynton looked to be harder than he thought.

"fine, we'll go." magnus said turning around. "let's go emily, they don't want us here." he could have easily forced himself inside studio d or even battle the four all at once but that would make his plans all too obvious. the surprise he earned from them was to be expected.

he was about to leave until the noise of the screen door opening and a pair of running footsteps stopped him.

"magnus, wait!" it was dan, he squished his way through his friends who hogged the door and he smiled, magnus smiling back.

"i knew i recognized that bed hair from anywhere" dan laughed, magnus enforcing a laugh also though he didn't find what he said all too funny. "so, did you think my offer through? would you like to join the awesome ones?"

instead of being met with an unbelievable laugh like last time, magnus simply sighed and took the other's hands into his own, a gesture secretly appreciated by the other.

"yes dan" magnus said, squeezing his hands . "i would like to join the awesome ones."
