episode 21

-sorry for not updating in so long!!

when magnus, his sister and shun make it to benton's lab in the suburbs of a rich area, the rest of the awesome ones were already by the gate. dan is the first to notice the three walk by the pavement. he waves and runs up to them 

"so, you guys were out drinking milkshakes without me?" dan asked with a smile. with how much time magnus spent with shun, he could tell they were growing friendlier

"well maybe if you weren't such a heavy sleeper, you could have come along" magnus replied. that was supposed to be an insult, a whole serenade couldn't wake kouzo up, but his friendly tone made it sound like playful banter

dan jokingly pouted and observing magnus' face, he notices something missing and that missing thing quickly clicked in his head "oh that reminds me! you left your glasses at my place" dan's pale hands reach into his shirt pocket and magnus' black rimmed pointy glasses are pulled out. the black haired thanked him and put them on though they were never really necessary, they were just a part of his quote on quote disguise. 

after they were adjusted to the brim of his nose, dan looked up at magnus and magnus looked down at dan. the red striped brunet smiled, opening his mouth to say something, most likely a compliment but was then rudely interrupted by the bad egg of the crew. "alright you two, that's enough mooching, we came here for a reason" without warning, lia grabs both boy's wrists and drags them to the gate of benton's lab where everyone else was waiting totally ruining the start of a perfect moment. but that moment could never top what magnus was anticipating, Benton dusk would be the man who'd lead the ao to the source of the ultimate power where he'd snatch it for himself. he didn't know when that day would be but he knew it'd be soon and soon he'd finally leave the ao for good. finally give dan kouzo what he deserves!

his loss in thought made dan see as if his friend was just nervous. he nudged his shoulder which caught the attention of magnus "you don't need to be nervous magnus" dan told him "benton's a great guy! i know you think he'd probably hate you after what you did to his lab but i promise to explain everything" magnus gave him a signature fake smile and nodded. this idiot. it's great that he'll do all the work for me

lia meanwhile rolled her eyes as she pressed the buzzer right next to the gate. the previous sleepover didn't help the haos girl in accepting magnus just yet, she still felt the teen was plotting something and unlike her friends she was hopeful benton would also see his evil ways and maybe knock some sense into dan. he was an adult afterall and adults always know better. 

after the third ring, benton's voice speaks through the security device "yes, who is this?" he says.

lia presses the button so her voice could go through, "it's us, benton, the awesome ones" she said and her smile fades to disappointment when she looks over to magnus "we also.. brought someone you'd like to meet"

"oh? you kids brought a guest?" benton asked a little surprised "well, you should know how i feel about surprise visits but... any friend of the awesome brawlers is a friend of mine!"

lia was about to interject but just how like she did to him, dan pushed her aside and pressed the buzzer to say "yeah! the visit is a little surprising but you're gunna love him benton! trust me"

benton chuckles. "alright, i trust you dan." after a few beeps, the gray double gate doors open up automatically. the six all make it through, magnus and lia stayed behind though walking at a far distance but making it to the front door at an equal pace. magnus could feel the girl eyeing him in a probable hated state but he didn't care and simply kept his eyes ahead. getting on lia's good side was never in his best interest, it was the same with wynton and that dumb dog that he always lost track of but he figured that getting through benton would most likely be a challenge. especially after totally trashing his research, he should have thought that part through.

anyway, it only took seconds for the door of the large research facility to open. a tall silver haired man in a gray blazer and yellow goggles steps out greeting his favorite brawlers with a smile "welcome awesome ones! i'm so delighted you could make..." as he scanned by the small crew his eyes land on magnus, his smile fades. magnus stares back expressionless
