chapter 40 (fin)

walking past the mobile gate led the couple into desolate ruins. they looked ancient with a broken roof, concrete blue structure, and a dark atmosphere.
broken down pillars were covered with the black and purple disease, the sky was overtaken by black clouds hiding any light from the moon and right in the center of it all was the cause of this mess.

the new corecell

or one of them at least. this one didn't look like the one benton showed them. the one here was tall and pointy at the top similar to a skyscraper but this one shared the same trait as the one on the elders computer. it was infested with the mysterious power more so than the one the two have seen so far. this one must be the ultimate one keeping the power at bay.

or in magnus' words this was what he had been searching for. the ultimate power!

"that must be it.." magnus heard dan mumble behind him. "i've heard golden bakugan talk of a great corecell.. this is exactly how they described it! looks like tiko got to it though.."

"the great corecell, hm?" the taller boy had heard of it before as well. he tried to pursue it but never got it.. but here it was right now.

and not only that, it was covered in a new power tiko proved would do him good.. it must be even better.. and all for him.

magnus began to slowly pace twords it, astonished by the sight it practically called his name. dan watched staying behind, confused when his former rival began to reach for it. with his gloved hand almost touching it.

"magnus..? what're you.."

the older teen paused, his fingers curling downward and closing to a fist. "tiko?!" he called out in a fury, turning around quickly and looking for the golden bakugan. "i know you're here! show yourself so we can finish this off!"

a loud eminent cry followed by an evil cackle echoed through the destroyed building. magnus narrowed his eyes and walked beside dan who reached into his pocket pulling out his pyrus defense. the infected faun bakugan rose from the ground followed by a puddle of the black and purple virus. he looked down at the aggravated couple with a grin, both boys standing their ground and refusing to show fear.

"my my magnus.. in due time we have finally met." tiko chuckled. "i wasn't expecting to meet you like this though.. why have you refused my multiple attempts in recruiting you?"

"because im not interested in joining your little game." magnus growled pulling out his own bakugan. "your reign ends here tiko, before it's even started. dan and i will finally put you in your place!"

"you want to battle me?" the aurlues scoffed. "fine. but only so i demonstrate the power you'll receive ."

"rrg, shut up!" magnus growled as the concrete tile floor began to fill with a transparent hexagonal pattern transforming into a battle field.

a hand on his shoulder however brought him back to his senses. he paused meeting eyes with a determined dan. "don't listen to him magnus, it's like i said, the two of us can face anything together!" the boy grinned " we'll defeat him and get to our friends in no time."

magnus nodded and smiled back just as determined then focused back on what was in task. he got into his battle stance and yelled "nillious, go!" before rolling his fierce darkus partner out.

the two headed roared once it was awakened, glaring at his golden aponent.

"let's help out too drago! go!" the pyrus was rolled out beside nillious, him too determined to take tiko out.
