episode 17

dan still had his lips pursed and when he felt the ground shake beneath him, he looks up meeting sight of lia's pegatrix with her on top of it

"hey, what's going on here?" he asked with a bit of temper

"we're here to end things right!" wynton, who was also on top of pegatrix, said

"rawr rawr!" lightning agreed

the haos brawler jumped off her bakugan meeting up with an unfazed magnus. 'here we go again' he thought

"wynton and I had a little conversation with your friends" lia said as she pointed to him, an emphasis on the word friends knowing well and clear that magnus never cared for them

magnus scoffed "yeah, so?"

wynton joined in and walked by his female friend. he adjusted his glasses. the disappointment never leaving his face "lia and i finally figured out what you're here for! you don't care about redeeming yourself or whatever, you're hungry for power!"

lia continued "and after finding out we work for benton, a perfect source for the corecells.."

"you used dan's offer as an opportunity! that explains why you were so quick in chime in"

magnus parts his lips in shock, dan feels his hand clench in anger.

"we still don't know what goal it is you have or what you want to do once you have the corecells power" the haos brawler growled "but you're just using us! admit it magnus!"

magnus stayed quiet. he looked to the ground and for a moment, lia smugly smiled thinking their conclusion was right until--

the teenager burst out laughing

wynton raised a brow "hey, what's so funny?" he asked

"do you guys have some kind of massive trust issue or something?" magnus asked after taking a breath "i mean seriously. i've done enough to prove myself, what more do you want?" on the inside, the boy was a bit impressed they figured that out on just the second day, but he hid that with his desieving charm

"and do you think we'd ever fall for that?"

"well, you never gave me a chance"

"i'd never give you one even if my life depended on it!"

"well you should, it might benefit you"

"oh, uh huh, jus' like you acting all goody goody benefits you right?"

the three continued to bicker on like they've never argued in their lives, dan watching in the sidelines with an annoyed expression on his face. suddenly shun walks next to dan holding a large quantity of tumpee plushes in his arms

"oh wow, lia and wynton are back" shun said looking over "looks like they still haven't gotten along with magnus"

dan sighed "and it looks like it's my duty to fix that"

"and how will you do that?"

shun's own question was answered when dan walked in the middle of the three brawlers and put his arms out "alright, that's enough!!" he yelled.

after hearing dan's temper in his voice, they zipped their lips not being used to seeing this side of him

the brunette looks over at lia and wynton "i didn't invite magnus into the team just so the two of you could pick fights with him all day"

lia tried to speak "but dan- he-" however she was cut off

"no buts lia"
dan sighed. he grabbed both his friends wrists and continued their gaze "look, you two are my bestest friends in the world and i get it's hard to accept this change. but magnus is a great guy once you get to know him! you two have to trust me on this. i didn't just make him another member without a reason, we've been over this"

dan turned to magnus and smiled. magnus smiled back

"and magnus is right, you two don't know what his intentions are because you haven't given him a chance" said dan. "but i know what'll help you all get along!" he brings both his pals into side hugs and turns around to magnus before announcing his brilliant idea: "a sleepover!"

"what?" 'oh great' magnus thought 'another event to make the night feel longer...'
