Each test was just as difficult as the last. At least Rabenherz had Eve and Izuku rotate being the V.I.P. They both practiced similar skills, crucial for Foundation staff such as themselves. They had been "killed" only twice each, due to either sheer chaos, or a certain blonde trying to make a point when it was their turn to be on the offensive. But that was to be expected.
During Lunch, Bakugo Katsuki interrupted Izuku, demanding to talk privately. Knowing Nezu had cameras here, he obliged the blond, all the while annoyed that he couldn't spend time with Eve because of this. His annoyance clearly leaked into his voice. "What do you want, Bakugo?"
And, with the subtlety of 096 on a rampage, he decided to start with the obvious question. Well, obvious to him, anyways. Nobody else at Aldera would've cared. "Where the fuck did you go?! You vanished after school."
Of course, this begged the question, arms crossing over his chest. If the clock wound back to six months ago, he would not have been able to do this. Now? Now he had some confidence due to Eve, and Isa's help. "Now you care? Why?"
And, Bakugo actually paused for a moment, before deciding on a... well, lie was a misnomer. Aunty Mitsuki was always kind to him... but it certainly wasn't the main reason. And they both knew it. "Because the old Hag was worried!"However, Izuku decided to chastise him for the bold, in your face lie. "Of course you didn't change your mind... you're Katsuki Bakugo, who am I kidding?"
"You say you got a fucking quirk.""I did. Your advice that day actually came in handy. For once."
Bakugo scrunched his face, not quite understanding what he was saying until he remembered what he said. Horror crept into his very soul, conflicting with his own sense of self importance. If this got out that he had made another person commit... no, it just wasn't believable. "You didn't..."
Sighing, Izuku spelled it out for him. "Oh, I certainly tried to. Twice. My quirk makes it hard for me to die. That's all it does. Now that I think about it, with all you did to me, I should've been dead, but my quirk must've saved me before."Eyes wide, the explosive blond asked, incredulously. "You aren't trying to be a hero?!" It was unfathomable for him to consider that some people just don't care about heroes.
With a raised eyebrow, the greenette stood his ground, "Why should I...? Are you seriously asking me that?! How can I be a hero, with all of the insecurities and self loathing you imparted onto me. I see you become so successful, a promising hero student... someone who hurts the weak. Why would I ever want to be a hero?"The blond was speechless. To think that he had finally gotten what he wished for, all while being the villain in another person's story...
"However, I'm still going to help people. I'm already on my way to doing so. Congrats, Katsuki. You won. Are you happy now? I'm going to go to my actual friend, who has helped me far more in two weeks than you have ever in 10 years. Just... leave me alone. I will stay out of your way if you stay out of mine." He turned and left, back to Eve, who arrived just in time to give him a hug. Midoriya clearly needed it, as he couldn't hide the pain he felt in that confrontation. She glared at him with sharpened sapphire daggers as they left. Katsuki thought for a moment, before going back to his previous ways of thinking. Although he was satisfied to know that he'd won, he was pissed that he never got a proper fight to prove it.
His stubbornness was astounding to all except those who knew him.
At the end of the day, Izuku and Eve walked together towards Nezu's office, in order to finish the day. Isa was already waiting there, probably already discussing the important matters at hand. However, what he didn't realize was that Mina had gotten Jirou and Momo to help her follow them. She sensed a relationship and wanted to see if it was true. The others, unfortunately, were roped along for the ride. However, what they heard was farther from what they were searching for.
