Tomura Shigaraki scratched his neck impatiently as he waited for the single armored vehicle to approach. He'd heard news through the underground that one of his lackeys was being transported to Tartarus, and the only one of his that was captured... well... that was his spy, Shoto. The two of them got along quite well, considering Tomura's personality, but it helps when you both experienced similar things. Tomura killed his father, but Shoto was unable to. The promise to help him do so was more than enough for the spy to jump on board. Due to that, and his results, Shoto had proven himself one of the more capable and loyal members of his team. So getting him back would be beneficial.
Dabi was the only one to express some doubts. He thought that for the underground to know about it was strange enough, but when he went digging through official channels. They didn't mention anything about a prison transfer. But that didn't bother Tomura. The promise of his first recruit was more than enough to get him onboard. And so, Dabi didn't stop him. After all, if it was true, he'd be getting his brother back. And since they both hated Endeavour equally, they could ruin his reputation together. At least, that was the ravenette's thinking process. He hadn't yet told the dual-quirk user yet, but hoped to soon.
The rest of the members were surprised by Tomura's decision, but ultimately figured he knew something about Shoto that they didn't. Then again, they had been just as surprised when they saw him with Tomura for the first time, so it wasn't that big a surprise, they supposed.
It was then that they saw the truck. The plan was simple: Compress would use some boulder's he'd collected to stop the truck. Dabi would surround the rest of the options with his flames, and then Tomura would take care of the guards, with Compress as the eventual getaway driver. Spinner was there as backup. And it went just as well as he'd hoped. The guards attempted to use their guns, but were quickly taken down. When Tomura decayed the back door, the guards attempted to open fire, but Spinner cut them down with thrown blades before they could move. In the back was Shoto. Chained to the back wall.
The boy looked up at Tomura, and smiled, relieved, "Finally, I'm free."
The escape was as easy as the attack, and they had made it with no problems. However, the true test happened when they got back, as Izuku found himself being interrogated right off the bat. "Where were you that night?"
Recreating the boy's mindset, Izuku replied in the cold, indifferent tone Shoto was known for. "I was tailed from the auction. Some people after the master. Well, they were just like the heroes."
Incredulity lined Shigaraki's voice as he shot back, knowing the hellish training he had gone through under Endeavour's watch: "And you got caught?"
"Yes. They had countermeasures for my quirk. Seismic and thermal grenades, greater numbers, and teamwork. I don't even know what knocked me out."
"Do they not teach you to fight with your body at that accursed hero school?"
"No. Neither did... him..." Shigaraki seemed to accept those answers. Informed by his memories, Izuku was able to answer them all as Shoto would. The man with black hair: Dabi, looked at him with narrowed eyes. From what he could ascertain, the man also hated Endeavour, but was still suspicious of Shoto for being his son. I guess I'll just have to prove myself, like I was going to.
His first action after getting free was a new set of clothes. He decided to lean towards clothes that Shoto would like, not necessarily what he would usually, in order to keep his cover. Izuku tried to remain in their good graces, introducing himself to each of the League members properly, since his cover was blown. Spinner respected his determination, Dabi at least understood his motivations once he explained their memories, and the others warmed up to him over time. Izuku was surprised by how... gullible they were. Perhaps it was Shigaraki vouching for him, or the fact that these villains were very much human. They had lives, stories, and genuine emotions. Just like the hero students he worked with. No matter how sad their background was... he couldn't get attached. Fortunately for him, Shoto's personality was very detached from all except Shigaraki. Turns out they both hated their fathers for similar reasons. And they had a pact to make sure Endeavour dies.
