Almost 2 weeks ago I moved into my new office which I've gotta say I like much better than the old one, this one's about the same size but instead of 4 of us in here it's just me and the other coordinators assistant David who was almost never in the office, he was usually out with the head Coordinator Jordan scouting locations and calling said locations; that is one job that I'm glad I don't have. The only down sides of the office are that I miss all my editor friends, the offices are much further from the main area than the editing bays we're and in turn I don't get to see the boys as much anymore. The work itself is amazing, I get to work with props a lot, making sure we have everything we'll need for shoots. This buried alive video has been particularly fun as we're having a custom 8 foot by 4 foot glass coffin built, fitted with air filters, cameras with live feed, the whole 9 yards.
I must've been so caught up in going through the comments on my most recent Instagram post (^) that I didn't hear the door open behind me. "Dani-" Karl called from behind me, dragging my name out as I nearly jumped out of my chair causing him to double over in laughter. "oh my God Karl, you know I scare easily, why do you always do that to me!" I laughed lightly, holding my chest in an attempt to slow my heart rate. "for that very reason." he deadpanned only to smile again when he saw my unamused expression, "I'm just kidding. Sorry Dan, I always forget. You look really pretty today by the way. What are you working on here?" he said, pulling me out from under my desk and sitting on my lap with a thud causing me to groan while I tried not to blush from his comment. "you know you're heavier than you look." I said, leaning around his side and trying to contain my laughter as he stared at my notes book with intense concentration.
"oh you're fine. What's this for?" he said pointing to a couple of jot notes at the top of the page. "well, we're trying to find mystery boxes of next week's video and those are just some names of reputable sellers so we don't get ripped off too much." I chuckled lightly, wrapping my arms around his middle causing him to lean back into my chest. "oh cool, and what about that." he asked, glancing at me out of the corner of his eye, pointing to another spot on the page. "I'm not gonna give away everything, you're going to be in all of these soon anyways." I laughed at his pouting face as I took the book away from him and put it in the drawer, "damn Harlow, this office has changed you. You used to be a homie, now you're just a meanie." he mumbled, crossing his arms over his chest and leaning back further into me as I felt my leg starting to go numb.
"I meant it when I said you're heavier than you look, I feel like I should be the one sitting on your lap, not the other way around." I managed to push him off me only to have him pull me to my feet. "well you could if you visited me." he smiled down at me as we walked out of the office, it was lunch time soon so I can take a walk. "yeah, you mean the gaming room that you share with Chandler? I'm not gonna walk into the room like 'hey Chandler, you guys playing GTA or Minecraft today' and plop down on your lap, you nerd." I laughed, shoving him lightly. "why not, Karl's need love too." he pouted, hanging his head. I looped my arms around his waist as his went around my shoulder. "okay, if you want ill visit you after this next shoot is done. I have too much work to do right now or I would." I smiled up at him and found him mirroring my expression. "speaking of that, are you excited for tomorrow?" he asked to which all I could do is nod.
