Chapter 17

Since this chapter is literally just a phone call I'll have karl talking in bold and Dani talking in italic incase I won't always feel like writing about what they're doing or how they're saying something, just keep that in mind.

"ugh I'm literally so nervous for tomorrow I don't know what to do with myself." I sighed, right now I'm sitting in bed with a face mask on and painting my nails. Karl called me about 5 minutes ago to see how I was feeling about tomorrow and to say I'm nervous is an understatement. Not only is it my first challenge but I will be doing it with 99 strangers and it could go for weeks. I need to do well on my first challenge, there's no two ways about it

"You don't have to be nervous, this challenge is honestly pretty chill compared to some of the stuff we've done, plus I'm going to be there the whole time."

"I know I know, I think that's the only thing keeping me level headed right now."

"I think you're going to do so good, especially knowing how competitive you are, I can see you winning it all."

"thanks karl, I really needed to hear that right now. For once maybe my stubbornness will come in handy. What's the prize again?"

"it's 500,000 which I think is one of the biggest prizes we've ever had."

"God, imagine what I could do with $500,000!? We could put such a big down payment on a house, I could get a new car, pay off Izzyz school, take Sierra on a vacation."

"finally buy some real rings."

I rolled my eyes, capping the nail polish and putting it on my bedside table before beginning to blow on them, "nah, I think I've decided that I'm going to wait until you buy me a real ring, seems only fitting since you're the only person who's ever pointed that out to me. Everyone else is fine with my fake jewelry."

"I'd have to be dating you first before I can buy you THE ring, that's usually how that works."

"what are you waiting for then?" I laughed, that was until I realized that the other end of the phone went quite.

"would you want to do that, date I mean."

I thought about it for a moment, collecting my thoughts again before I spoke, "I mean, I wouldn't be opposed to it. I feel like we've tested the waters enough at this point and you make me really happy, not that you didn't before. I just wasn't sure where your head was at with that whole situation."

He was quiet for a moment, making my heart pound heavily in my chest, "ever since we made that agreement to try this out first I've wanted nothing more than to be with you. I wanted to give you the time you needed to feel this out and I think it's going better than I could've ever imagined."
