Chapter 4

Let's just say waking up at 5am is not my favorite thing to do, neither is driving to work at 6am and realizing I'm the first person there... Literally. I grabbed my stuff and locked my car before walking up to the building and waving at the security camera. Eventually I heard the door click open and I walked in, "what are you doing here this early?" Lee, the nights security man asked, looking at me from the doorway of the security room. "I thought we were supposed to be here by 6 to leave for the shoot but it turns out I read the email wrong and they said 6:30..."i said, fiddling with my scan badge and feeling kinda stupid. "oh okay, carry on." he said, stepping back into the security room as I walked into the main forum. I went right to the kitchen and grabbed a monster as well as a few snacks because this office has the best snacks and threw them into my bag. I cracked open my monster and took a seat on one of the couches in the common area; now I wait.

At just after 6:30 Jimmy walked in with Chandler and Chris and they instantly spotted me, "morning fellas." I mumbled, taking another long swig from my drink and locking my phone before dropping it on my lap. "what are you doing here so early Dan?" Chandler laughed, looking at the small pile of snack wrappers that is collecting as I'd clearly been here for a while. "I read the email wrong and thought we were supposed to be here at 6, not 6:30," I explained, collecting my pile of garbage and walking towards the trash can, "where's Karl?" I asked. As the words left my mouth he walked in with Jordan and David. I walked back over to the couch, picking up my bag with one hand and my half empty monster in the other. I let out a short whistle to try and get his attention and it worked like a charm, his head snapped in my direction as a smile spread over both our faces.

He excused himself from the conversation before speed walking over to me and wrapping me in a tight embrace. He swayed us a little almost spilling my drink which caused me to pull that arm free, "woah woah, you're gonna spill the goods." I said, holding the can protectively against my chest. He quickly grabbed the can and took a drink before handing it back, "I hate being here before 8 but seeing my 2 favorite things has made it worth it." he smiled, throwing his arm around my shoulder, "aww, Karl, that was so nice!" I giggled, leaning my head against his shoulder, "yup, Monster and Chris." he mused, giving Chris a fist bump before they both burst into laughter. "wow karl, I shared my monster with you and this is how you repay me?! I see how it is." I shrugged his arm off my shoulder before shoving him lightly, pretending to be mad.

"what the honk Dani, pushing is rude. You know you're my favorite!" he said, wrapping his arms around me and pulling me down onto the couch with him, the whole time I kept my arms crossed as Chris looked down at us with a soft smile. "it's too early for you guys to be cuddling, we have places to be." Jordan exclaimed from across the room, causing us to separate and stand before we made our way to him. "okay, Dave and I are taking the transport van and since it's only a 2 seater you'll have to go with one of the guys, sorry Dani." Jordan smiled at me apologetically. "it's okay, she can ride with me." Karl said, appearing at my side once more. I nodded in agreement and made my way out with David and Jordan to do a final supply check. Once we knew we had everything we needed they guys hopped into the van and I got into Karl's car.

"I can't believe I've been up for 2 hours already." I sneered, looking down at the clock on his dashboard. "well get ready to be awake for the next 60 hours at least , if we're staying at the filming sight we'll either be sleeping in the cars or tents on the floor. Pick your poison." he shot me a sarcastic smile as I leaned back in my seat, drinking the last of my monster, "well there goes that." I mumbled, putting it in the cup holder on the door to get it out of my way, "well luckily for you, I thought ahead." he said, leaning into his back seat and producing 2 more cans. I gasped excitedly and popped them both open, "thanks Karl... Wait, why do I get the feeling that you knew I was coming with you?" I glanced over at him before grabbing the aux cord and connecting my phone to it. He pulled out of the parking lot last, following the Van, Jimmy's truck and the multiple other cars of people who were also going to be at the shoot.
