Chapter 6

(kinda of a long one y'all)

To say I was nervous for tonight was an understatement. It was my day off today so I spent more of it just relaxing, catching up on sleep and TV because tonight I'm going to Karl's to do my first ever stream. He called me on his lunch to talk about the plan was and tell me more about who was going to be playing with us. He's going to set me up at his spare streaming station and start his stream and just have me in the game for a little bit then when his streams done he's going to get off the game and raid my stream that at the end we're going to paint each other's nails and answer any questions that his viewers have for me or us. I agreed to the plan, thinking that would be the best way to introduce myself into the world of streaming and with that I let him go. It's 5pm now and I'm drying my hair after my shower when Sierra walked in and raised an eyebrow at me. "can I help you?" I laughed, turning off the hair dryer and grabbing my straightener to plug it in.

"I feel like I need to have the talk with you seeing as your mom isn't here and this is your first sleepover at a boys house." she said, cracking a smile while I laughed out loud. "you're too funny, you and I both know we're not going to do anything, we're playing among us and painting each other's nails, nothing's gonna happen. And besides we're just friends." I sighed at that last part, shaking my head before wrapping up my hair dryer and throwing it under the sink. "Honestly Dan, this Karl guy sounds really shy. I think if there's anything there you'd have to be the first to bring it up or make a move or something." "It's so painfully obvious that you both feel the same way about each other so why not just go for it." she shrugged, pushing off the door frame and walking into the bathroom before taking a seat on the counter. "'why not just go for it' oh yeah, you know me, the bold flirtatious type. Sometimes I wish I had your confidence with crushes, if I did I so would not be single right now." I chuckled cynically, parting my hair and clipping the top half on top of my head.

"yeah, you and Karl would probably be together by now." she said, letting out a loud laugh as I hit her repeatedly before running off to the kitchen. "okay I'm sorry I'm sorry. You mentioned that you wanted to dress different for streams, what does that mean? Like what did you have in mind?" she asked, walking back over to the stove while I went into the fridge to grab our drinks. "I mean, I have this whole bright girly side to my sense of fashion that I never get to pull out. I could walk into the office wearing that stuff and no one would bat an eyelash but I kind of like being comfy in my jeans and sweaters and this gives me a great opportunity to play dress up." I explained, grabbing 2 cans of coke and following behind her into the loving room. "plus, it fits my screen name; freckles. That girl has to dress cute, no one named freckles sits there on stream in grandpa sweaters." I laughed, sitting close legged on the floor. "I see what you're saying. I love that side of you so I'm glad you'll be pulling it out more." she said with a smile and I put my hand over my heart with a pout. "ugh, I love my number one fan." I said with a laugh as she shook her head, "I always will be and don't you forget that."

While I was getting ready I got a facetime from Katie. I answered it and waved at her once her face popped up on my screen. "hey! How are my favorite mom and my favorite God son doing?" I asked causing her to laugh, "D, he's your only God son." she said making me laugh, "I know I know but even if I had another the competition wouldn't even be close." I said and this time it was her turn to laugh. "where is he anyways." I asked to which she flipped the camera to find him sitting on the floor playing with toys, "hey little man." I said in a higher tone and his head snapped towards me before he got on his knees and crawled towards me. "look at you go, you're getting so good at crawling handsome." I gushed making the boy laugh as he reached for the phone. "I'll call you later Katie, I'm getting ready to go to Karl's right now." I said as she flipped the camera around and smiled while wiggling her eyebrows. "you're the worse, go away. Love you, bye."
