Chapter 10

*I really like this chapter y'all and it's a super important one for like multiple story line so I hope you like it!*

Today is the fourth day in the last 2 weeks that Karl and I have come into work together and people are starting to notice, namely Chris who of course told Katie. I was sitting in my office, minding my own business trying to source prison jumpsuit for a new video when Katie burst through my door with Tucker in her arms. "oh my God, why didn't you tell me you were coming in today. Come to aunt Dani." I exclaimed as Tucker reached his arms out for me to take him. I picked him up and placed him on my hip, bouncing him up and down and kissing him on the forehead which made him laugh. "it was kind of a last minute decision actually. I just got the invited for Tucker's birthday in the mail today so I figured I'd come hand deliver them." she said, taking a seat on the little couch in the corner of my office and letting the heavy baby bag slid off her shoulder and onto the floor. I chuckled at her relieved face and sat beside her before repositioning the baby to be sitting in my lap facing me.

"how are you doing today, you look a little tired." she said as she shuffled through her bag before pulling out a crisp white envelope with 'Dani' written on the front and handed it to me. I took it from her leaned forward to toss it onto my desk. "that's probably because I am. Karl and I stayed up until like 2 last night watching this anime that I don't even remember the name of before we decided to go on a late night 7/11 slushee run and let's just say 3am Dani takes sugar a lot differently than 3pm Dani. I don't think I feel asleep till 5." I sighed, bouncing the baby up and down on my knee. "what's been going on with you two. Chris told me that you guys come in and leave together all the time now you're having sleepovers. I mean you guys have always been close or we wouldn't have made you godparents together but this is a different level." she said to which I just shrugged.

"I mean nothing has happened between us... Unfortunately, we've just been closer lately and I couldn't tell you why or what changed, it was almost as if it happened overnight. If we aren't together in person were talking on the phone or on facetime and when we can't do that we're either playing 8ball or sending each other tik toks. It's a little overwhelming if I can be honest but in a good way, if that makes sense... I don't know if anything I'm saying is making sense." I said while she nodded patiently. Katie was one of 5 people who knew about my feelings for Karl, the other 4 being Sierra, Isabella, Maddy and Chris and each of them are always so helpful and understanding. "I think you should just go for it. Karl doesn't have as much experience with dating as you which is saying a lot since you don't have much either but regardless, I think you'd be surprised with the outcome." she advised making me groan.

"Sierra said the same thing, do you guys have some weird witchy connection that I don't know about." I asked making her laugh. "yeah, it's called texting. Now, why don't we go find the boys, I think it's lunch soon and mama is starving." she said, standing up and grabbing the diaper bag while I grabbed my own purse. I followed closely behind her as we walked to the other side of the office to find the guys coming out of their gaming rooms. "hey, when did you guys get here." Chris exclaimed, pulling his wife in for a hug and a kiss before kissing his son on the forehead. "hey little buddy!" Karl exclaimed, waving wildly at the boy in my arms making both of us laugh. Karl held out his hands to Tucker as he leaned out of my arms and towards his God father. He hoisted him up to be more laying on his chest as Tucker put his head on Karl's shoulder and let his eye flutter closed.

"I got here maybe half an hour ago, I just wanted to grab Dani first and I brought birthday cards." she said, pulling the small stack out of her purse and handing them to everyone. She got to Karl last and seeing as his arms were full he took it between his teeth making everyone laugh, "here K, let me take that." I said, taking the edge of the card between my fingers and pulling it from his mouth before putting it into my purse. "thank you." he said sweetly before leaning over and placing a kiss on my cheek then following the boys out of the hallway leaving me stood there red in the face. Katie watched them go before turning to me with the same bewildered expression, "has that ever happened before?" she asked eventually as I slowly shook my head no, "I swear to God if you don't ask that boy out..." she trailed off as we slowly followed behind them making me laugh nervously, "you know, I think I might."
