Chapter 19

Day 6

By this point we were down to 48 people and the second we woke up we were told that Nolan was going to be in charge which I instantly knew was going to be a big mistake. His first decree was that we could not sit which I was fine with as I'd been sitting for almost a week straight, I could use the exercise. After Nolan's little Simon says escapade, Julia, Laura and Quinn, the only people left from our group decided to just do laps around the circle to keep busy, "okay Dani, it's time to get real. We've all seen how you and Karl are and you cannot tell me that you guys aren't dating." Julia said, nudging me as all of us came to a stop, "we really are just friends guys, really good friends. He's that way with everyone, I mean look at how he is with chandler." I said, pointing to where they were standing, karl was stood behind Chandler with his arms wrapped around his waist, "yeah I guess you do have a point there." she shrugged and continued walking, crisis averted.

Day 8

Yesterday was exactly 1 week that we were in here and in an attempt to get people out Jimmy set up a prize where if you touched a tesla while swinging from a tire you could keep it and they brought out numbers down to 32 people. At this point my whole body hurts from sleeping on the floor, the oatmeal is starting to taste really bad and no matter how much dry Shampoo or bath wiped I use I still feel dirty. I hope this challenge ends soon because I'm reaching my limits. Today was different, instead of shrinking the circle they decided to split the circle in 4 and decide is by our colours. Thankfully yellow was right beside green but red is adjacent to me so I can't even see Laura through the bowl of money in the middle. I hadn't spent much time talking with the people on my team so I spend most of the day sitting near the middle at the border talking to Julia and Quinn while they passed messaged back and forth between Laura and I.

It was almost dinner time and no one had gotten out yet so Jimmy rolled out a wheel that had 3 options, you either get a hammock to sleep in, you get $3000 or you leave the circle. I don't know if it's the exhaustion or the need for a sign to keep going but when he asked who wanted to spin it I was the first one up, "are you serious Dan?" Jimmy asked as I approached the wheel, "yeah honestly if I'm meant to get out that's where I'll land and if not I'll keep going for as long as I can." I said, my voice clearly not sounding as it usually does and be gave me an understanding nod before I stepped up and spun the wheel. I closed my eyes as I listened to the wheel clicking, only opening them when I heard Chris and Karl yelling in excitement. I'd won $3000 and that was all I needed to keep me here. Another person from my team named David stepped up to do it next and he also got $3000 so he decided to go again, and again, and again, by the end of it Jimmy lost $12,000 and none of us got out.

Day 10

After spending the day yesterday talking to Laura, she decided to chance the balance beam and ended up falling off. Then this morning Quinn ended up having a family emergency and had to leave so Jimmy gave her $5000 as a consolation prize. There are only 25 of us left and that was making me both nervous and excited. Karl left last night and none of the guys showed up until almost 11 so the second Karl came in he came right over to me, pulling me into a much needed hug, "where'd you go last night?" I asked, taking a seat on the floor and pulling him down with me. "I went home to shower and go to bed because we had to film a gaming video. It was really cool actually, we played rogue company and for every kill you got you would get $1000. I actually won but the twist was that the winner had to give it away so I gave it to chandler for his wedding." he explained while I laid my head in his lap, letting him run his fingers through my definitely gross hair.
