Chapter 20

"good luck everybody!" Karl smiled at us as he climbed into the bin of money, making me laugh just a little too hard. Right now we're all gathered in the middle of the stadium about to start the tag video. My day off yesterday was amazing, karl and I spent most of it in bed, we ordered a pizza then I sat in on a jack box stream with the usual gang and had a good laugh. Today though, I woke up in the zone even though we didn't have to be here until 8, I've never been more determined to do anything in my life. "okay, is everyone ready?" Jimmy asked over his shoulder as they began letting the money fall over us. He nodded and turned to the camera before doing his intro, "This is half a million dollars in cash and which ever one of them I tag last keeps it. 10, 9, 8..." Jimmy began counting off as I grabbed Jordan's hand and we both broke into a sprint towards the bleachers.

We were in too much of a hurry to find the stairs so we just vaulted the wall and started making our way up. "are you going up to the second floor or should I? " I asked as we crouched behind the entrance tunnel, letting my eyes scan the arena to keep tabs on where everyone is. "Jess ran the other way to take the long way up to 3, basically everyone went that way anyways so Jimmy will probably go that way first. Go as far as you can over there and I'll go to the top of level 2." she said and I just nodded before she broke off from me and booked it up the stairs. My eyes followed her for a bit until she ducked into one of the rows. Once I was sure that she was safe in her spot I pulled out my camera. We all had body cams on but we were told to talk to the camera as much as possible.

"so guys, I've have an alliance with Jordan and Jessica since day 10 where we agreed that we'd work together to be the top 3. The game plan here is we would each take one of the floors, I'm on 1, Jordan is on 2 and Jess is on 3 and what were going to do is Jessica is going to keep watch from one of the announcer booths and text us the hunters locations so we can move around and not get caught. Fingers crossed it works." I smiled nervously, holding my crossed fingers up for the camera to see before shutting it off and running into the seating area. I kept as low as I could, basically crouching most of the time until I found a row where the seats were kind of raised and the spot underneath the seats was deep so I just wedged myself under the seats.

"God, how am I under here right now?" I whispered to myself, struggling to reach into my back pocket and pull out my phone in this tight spot, thank God I chose Leggings with pockets today. I must've laid under the chairs for 5 hours, using energy saving mode on my phone to play random games when Jimmy came through on the walkie talkie, "attention contestants, it's taking me forever to find you so I'm bringing in Chris and chandler." he said making me groan internally, "should we move?" I texted the girls in our group chat. Jessica said that she was already walking around maintenance area of the third floor, keeping an ear out and Jordan had already gotten out of her place and was going to go to the other end of the stadium.

I was trying to get out of my hiding spot until I realized that I was literally stuck. I tried to stay calm and not breath too hard as that would probably make this tight space even tighter so instead I grabbed the camera and started talking to it, "status update, I am literally stuck. Man I've gotta get to the gym more." I laughed quietly to myself as I filmed my hiding spot and the surrounding area. "I was going to try and move but I honestly think I'm pretty hidden so I might just stay here until I can figure a way out that doesn't involve me ripping my shirt. I'll check in again soon." I was about to turn off the camera when another message came through the walkie talkie,  "attention contestants we've got our very first person out." he said and my eyebrows pinched together.

"I wonder who that could be. Well as long as it's not me we're good." I chuckled before turning the camera off and tucking it under the seat in front of me. It wasn't too long after that that Jordan texted our group chat saying that she was the one who was caught. I felt bad, she was such a cool person and she really deserved to win but according to her Jimmy gave her $10,000 as a consolation prize and all though its not the $500,000 that we were here for, it could've been worse. She wished us luck and that was the last we heard from her. Not even 10 minutes later another person was found and since Jessica could see center field from where she was and I literally couldn't stand she told me that it was Chris, the only other person from yellow.
