"My lady!" Thea assisted me.

I stopped groaning the moment I felt relief. Oh, the regeneration had already started.

"I'm... Oh." I stood up and started to feel my left arm. "Ah! It's back!" I laughed, wholeheartedly. "Thea, look! My arm is back, it has fully healed!" I flexed it to her and she smiled.

"Yes. It has, indeed, my lady."

"Thank goodness." I sighed. I'm so happy. "Anyway. Thea, if you've always had such powers, why haven't you fought for yourself in front of Bella and her servants?" I inquired, she could've, at least, defended herself. Why would she purposely took all those beatings?

"Because I'd rather suffer than my master. Your reputation would've been tainted if I did. I'm sure she'll spread rumors about you wanting to hurt her." What? She pretended to be helpless in order to protect me. That's... Too loyal. Not healthy, at all. I've never seen such loyalty before. Whether it be on my lash life on Earth or anywhere.

Thea, you...

"You shouldn't have bothered. My reputation is already ruined as it is."

"My lady..." Thea is one of the only people who could empathize with me. I wonder why.

I changed the topic, hoping she'll drop it. She's always worrying about me.

And, right now. It's as if I don't know anything about her, anymore.

"Thea, if you don't mind me asking. Can I ask how you get your powers?" I consulted. She gasped and looked away. "Of course, you don't have to." I chuckled, nervously. Is it a sensitive topic, after all?

"No, no. If my lady desires it, she shall know." She breathed in sharply before speaking. "I was born in a fallen noble family. I had parents and a younger sister. We were buried in lots of debts, and at the age of seven, I was sold as payment." So, that's why she said those things. Like, when she wished she had a penny on her name as a kid.

"What?!" I exclaimed.

"After that, a war had abrupted. In the family who bought me was full of cowards and they won't send any of their children to the war, whether as official soldiers or reserve. So, they adopted me formally and decided to send me, instead." I swear, I don't know how to respond. All I know about her was that she was a slave and that I rescued her from her unlucky fate. I would've never known about this if she never told me.

"How awful." My whole body trembled at her testimony. I haven't heard such an horrendous thing in a very long time. It hurts to know that there are people like those who stop exists, or not. It was 1,000 years ago, so they're dead now.

"There were lots of children when I arrived at the camps. I was a little relieved back then, to know that I wasn't alone." Thea's smile faltered and was replaced with a frown. "Then, that happened." She pursed her lips.

"What did?" My eyebrows knitted.

She inhaled before answering. "The former emperor used the blood of the God of War in order to win the war and decided to experiment on children. We were one of those." God of War...? Wasn't he involved in this chaos? What's going on, now? Where did he even got the blood from? Don't tell me that the God of War used those children, too? Well, it's not important for now.

"The former emperor did? What a tyrant!" I see... So, that's where the current emperor got his attitude from. The tyrant apple doesn't fall far from the tyrant tree.

"There were, at least, 200 children sent to the experiments and only 20 of us had survived. And, by the end of the war, as far as I know, there were only four or five left." Children? They used children in wars?! How could they be so cruel?! They haven't even lived their lives yet.
