"Do you still love me?"

My heart almost stopped beating because of those words.

What the hell did she just ask me?

My ears were right, weren't they?

What the hell did go through her mind?

I still kept playing until the end of the song but my eyes were now looking at the ceiling. I should just lie about this, shouldn't I?

"What kind of question is that?" I asked, a bit coldly, without looking at her.

"Just answer it," she pleaded. "Please."

I stopped playing and stood up, heading to the living room. She followed me, of course.

What should I say to her? She had been showing signs that she didn't love me these past months. I just couldn't say I still did to make her mine again. I didn't wanna get her if she only regret what she did so she came back to me. No. I didn't need sympathy. All I needed was pure love from her which I knew I should work for. I didn't want to get it just by saying I still loved her right now and boom! Jackpot. She came back into my arms. No. That wasn't the way.

"Mark, do you?"

I swept my hand over my hair as I turned around and faced her.

"Do you still love me, Markus? No lies." She asked again, looking through my eyes.

"I don't want you to ask me that."

"Why? Because you still do, don't you?"

I just replied nothing. I didn't wanna tell the truth but if I lied, she'd know, of course, because I'd avoid her eyes automatically.

"Mark?"

I replied nothing.

"Markus?"

I still replied nothing.

"Markus Feehily?"

I replied nothing again.

"MARK!! ANSW-" She yelled but I cut her off.

"NO! I DON'T LOVE YOU, OKAY?!" I yelled back, trying my hardest to not avoid her eyes and I succeeded this time, totally succeeded to kill me:)

And, shit.

This is the worst and hardest thing I've ever done in my whole fucking life.

Just when I finished that line, I saw pain coming in her eyes, greatest pain I'd ever seen in her beautiful eyes. That sparkles in her eyes were suddenly gone. I saw her tears showing and then they rolled down freely.
