Chapter 31
Raleigh's POV

The next week flies by. 

The only signs of Addison that we have so far are from Magnus and Ragnor.
Along with Lily.

"The Chiswick event is today, right?" Adele asks, fingering through the portfolio.
I nod.
"We must get there. At least with one of the groups."

"That's where Addison would be," Ashton mutters.
She looks up from my desk.

All our heads snap up.

"What?" Rosalie asks.
"It makes the most logical sense, right? All the clues we've gathered would point us in the right direction to find her. Addi wants to find the most powerful people. What James does later involves that."

I blink.

"That's... accurate..." Antony mutters, running a hand through his hair.
Adele hugs her girlfriend tightly.

"Quickly, I hear someone!" Rosalie says.

We all pull out random things, and I hide the journal, trying to be normal.

"We need to go to the Chiswick house soon," Matthew whispers to us as he walks in.
"Called it," I mouth to Antony.

"We'll meet you there in a bit," Adele replies to Matthew. "I'll call a carriage to the house."
He nods, dashing out.

Everyone else stands, and we all find our gear.
Antony kisses me on the lips softly before running off to call a carriage.

We all change, before running out.
As I'm jogging down the hall, I run into Will.

"Everything okay, Rals?" He asks, smiling.
I nod, lying. 
His blue eyes pierce mine.

This feeling comes over me.
Like a Herondale connection.

I remember what Adele asked me those weeks ago.
Would I stay here?

I stumble back to reality.

"Everything is okay, big brother. I promise. I'm just fashionably late for training."
He laughs.
"There's my Raleigh. My sister."

We joke around some more before he kisses me on the forehead.
"It's Tessa time!" Will says, grinning ear to ear.

Will runs off, and I head downstairs.

I think I might already know the answer to my question.
But what would everyone else say?

Our group reaches Chiswick before Cordelia and her group does.

"Great," Antony says. "We're here before everyone else is."
"What about Grace?" Rosalie asks.

"I'll handle Grace if she comes our way," Adele replies.
We all nod, walking around the place.

Ashton perks up as we pass by the greenhouse.
"Look guys!" She says. "Footprints!"

Antony runs over, bending down.
"These seem like hers. Follow north."

I take his hand, leading him in the way of Addison.
Her placements get closer and closer as we follow.

Ashton's jaw drops as she rounded the corner.
Addison was here.

I nod at everyone, and we get into formation.

Ashton runs, tackling her sister.
Adele follows, and we all make a big circle around the two of them.

"Get off of me sister!" Addison yells, her reddish brown locks tumbling out of her hat.
"Never!" Ashton replies, effectively pinning her down.
Addison growls.

"Our moms will be devastated in you, Addi. Imagine the looks on their faces," Ashton continues.
"They never cared about me, you git!" Addison screams back.

We all form a tighter circle around them.

Ashton looks taken aback.
"Of course they cared about you. Fuck it, I cared about you."

Adele's jaw drops.
Ashton rarely cusses.
Ever.

Addi watches her, trying to find a lie.

I overhear voices coming in, making my head snap up.
Antony backhands Addison, effectively knocking her out.

Ashton bounds Addi's wrists and ankles.
We tie her up, and Adele carries her out to the carriage.

Antony and I go to where the Merry Theives would be, running over to Cordelia as she mends Lucie's leg.
I run over to help Matthew and Thomas with James, when more footsteps appear.

Will stands by a big group of Shadowhunters, the witchlight illuminating his black hair. 
Tessa holds a sword in her hands, with Cecily, Anna and Gabriel.

Lucie cries "Papa!" and Will dashes over, everyone else following, surrounding us.
Cecily fusses over me and Antony.

"The mandikhor has been defeated!" Cordelia announces. "It will never return!"
"How do you know that, young lady?" George Penhallow questions.

"BECAUSE JAMES KILLED IT!" She announces even louder.
Everyone gasps.

Alastair carries a sleepy Cordelia out, all of the adults here looking worried.
Will scoops up Lucie and all the adults help carrying out the injured kids.

Tessa helps James, Matthew and Thomas watching too.
Antony pulls me close as we slip out to the carriage.

"This was a hard day," He murmurs.
I nod.
He doesn't even know half of it.
