Prologue

Alexa's POV
I open my eyes and sit up. I'm in my room. I look outside the window and then my phone to check the time.

10.34 pm

I'm meeting with the guys in 26' so I get up and head to the bathroom to take a shower. Then I head downstairs and grab my car keys. I get outside, in my car and drive away.

I arrive at the garage and I see the guys closing up. I park and get out.

Alexa: You were gonna leave without me?

I rest my elbow on Mia's shoulder.

??? :You were late.

I look at Brian with sharpened eyes.

Alexa : I don't think I committed a crime by sleeping til 10.30.

??? : No you didn't but you're still late.

I roll my eyes while smiling and I walk towards Dom as he puts his arm around my waist.

Alexa: Now, we're gonna be late and this time will be because of all of you.

I point all of them with my finger and walk to my car. They all head to their cars too and we drive to the racewars.

When we get there, I get out of my car and I see that Dom is also out of his but now is surrounded by skanks. Girls with shorts and tops that you can see everything. I sharpen my eyes and tilt my head to the side. I walk slowly towards there. They don't know I'm close to them but I can hear them laughing.

Alexa: What's the joke? So I can laugh too?

They all look at me.

Dom: Cmon Alexa, we're just talking.

??? : Yeah, talking. So why don't you just leave, bitch?

I'm surprised of what she said to me and sad of what's going to happen to her. I scoff.

Alexa: Okay look, whether you leave now or I make you wish you were never born.

She scoffs and walks away with the other skanks. I look at Dom and roll my eyes as I walk away. He tries to say something but I'm already too far to hear him.

I get to the others helping them set up our camp. After we finish, I get in line to race. I look on my right and then I hear a voice from the car on my left.

??? : Baby, hey baby. You should watch on the side. I wouldn't want to get exhaust on that pretty face

Alexa: Underestimating me, a mistake many have made. So why don't you just put your money in your mouth?

I say with a smirk

??? : I'll race you for that sweet little ass

Alexa: You want ass, why don't you hit Hollywood Boulevard? You want an adrenaline rush, it'll be two large. Right here, right now. What's gonna be?

I say as I show him my money.

??? :You got it.

As we pull up to the starting line, I look at the guy who is making kissy faces. I look at him with a serious look and then turn my eyes to the road as I push my glasses up.

Once we take off we are side by side before I hit my NOS.

Alexa: See ya

I say with a singy tone as I cross the finish line. He hands me the money and I head to the camp. I see the guys sitting and head next to Dom.

Dom: How did it go?

I show him the money as I smile.

Dom: Well you did learn from the best.

Alexa: Ha! I'd say I race you right here right now for two grand but I already got them and don't wanna lose them so...

He laughs.

After the race wars are finished we all head back home. We decide to see a movie so we sit in the living room. I sit next to Dom and he puts his arm around me as I rest my head on his shoulder. Mia chooses a movie but I don't see it cause I fall asleep after a while.

Meanwhile
Third person's POV
Riley Marshall is standing outside the fire house 51 finally deciding to say the truth. She walks in and sees a few firefighters sitting on a table. They look at her

??? : Can I help you miss?

Riley: Hi, I'm looking for a firefighter with the name Matthew Casey?

??? : And who are you?

Riley : Tell him Riley Marshall. He'll understand.

The firefighter walks away and then she sees Matt walking outside.

Riley: Hello Matt.

Matt: They told me you were here. Why did you come?

Riley: I need to talk to you. In private.

He nods and she follows him to a room with lots of tables.

Matt: What is it?

She takes a deep breath.

Riley: I want you to do me a favor.

Matt: A favor? You're here to ask me a favor? So you left twenty years ago and you come back now?

Riley: I'm dying Matt. And she has no one else in the world. You are the only one that can take care of her.

Matt: Wait, who is she?

She takes a deep breath.

Riley: Your sister.

He widens his eyes.

Matt: I have a sister?

Riley: I found out right after I left. I couldn't come back to tell you earlier.

He moves his head no as his hands run through his hair.

Riley: She's in trouble Matt. I couldn't talk her out of this but I guess you can.

Matt: You think she's gonna listen to me? I've never seen her before.

Riley : I know but if you bring her here, if she sees how you chose to live your life, she might change her mind.

There's a moment of silence.

Riley: If you can't do this favor for me, do it for her.

He thinks if it.

Matt: What's her name?

Riley: Alexa.
