More Lies?

Alexa's POV

I get out of my car and head to a building. Once i get in, everyone welcomes me with cheers and hugs.

Gabby: How you doing Alexa, we missed you.

Alexa:Yeah? Well guess what? I missed you too.

I say with a smile.

Alexa:Where's Matt?

Gabby:In his office.Cmon, i'll lead the way.

I follow Gabby to the bunk room and i see Matt through the door, looking at some papers. Gabby knocks on the door and he turns to see her, but then he spots me head, coming out of the side.

Matt: Alexa? What are you doing here?

He says as he hugs me

Alexa:Well, i thought that it was time to come back. Not for a long time, but still some time.

Matt: You thought very well. Um...but i have some more paperwork. You can stay here until i'm finished.

Alexa: I can hang out more with Gabby

Gabby:Ok, let's do it.

We both smile and head to a bunk to sit.

Gabby:So tell me, how are you?

Alexa:Good, good.

Gabby: Sorry, but I have to ask, do you stay alone in your mom's house now?

Alexa: My mom's house? What? No! Before i went there to emty it from my mom's stuff, i hadn't place foot there for ages.

Gabby:Really? Not even once?

Alexa: No, my mom bugged me all the time about being careful with my friends, don't get in trouble or the most annoying one, stop being friends with them. So i just left my house when i turned 15.

Gabby:That young? And where did you go?

Alexa:To Dom and Mia's house. 

Gabby:And you still live there?

Alexa:Where else would i live? Dom and Mia are my best friends.

Gabby:Well, not wanting to give away Matt, but i don't think he liked them when he met them.

I widen my eyes and smile.

Alexa:Really?

I say, realizing that i haven't told him yet that me and Dom are together.

Later, after Matt and Gabby are done with their shift, we head to Molly's. I am sitting at the bar with Matt next time and Gabby across from me, telling them how my leg got better after I went to LA.

Otis:Hey Gabby, these drinks won't be made by themselves.

We hear Otis calling Gabby from the other edge of the bar.

Gabby: Sorry Alexa, but duty calls.

Alexa: No need to apologize. I understand.

She smiles at me and walks away.

Matt: Are you gonna get back to LA?

Alexa : Yeah, I guess.

Matt: Why did you come? I mean I'm happy you're here but I don't think you came just because you wanted to see us.

Alexa: Well, maybe I want some time to think.

Matt: Of what?

Alexa: I don't know... My life? Myself?

Matt:Just so you know, I think you should stay here for a while. Keep. Your distance from LA, you know? Your life, as you call it.

I frown at his words, as he kinda reminds me of my mother when she was telling me to leave LA.

Alexa: Are you trying to tell me something Matt? Cause if you do, then I suggest you to say it right into my face cause I'll get angrier if I assume my stuff.

Matt: I'm not telling you anything. I just think that you could get in trouble again and this time it could be more dangerous.

Alexa: More dangerous than what I've already been through? I went to hell and back, there's no worse.

Matt: I'm not saying that it is gonna happen, just be safe. And keep your distance from that "life".

Alexa: You know what? You're starting to sound a lot like my mother and I don't like it at all. What did she say to you?

Matt:When?

Alexa: When she came to find you, when she was at the hospital, I don't know. But I'm sure she told you something.

Matt: She might have.

Alexa: When?

Matt: A couple of days before she died.

Alexa:And what did she say to you?

Matt takes a deep breath as he looks into my angry eyes.

Matt: She told me to keep you away from LA. Away from your friends?

Alexa: And what did you say?

Matt: I told her I'd do my best.

I let out a sarcastic laughter and get up. I turn around to leave but Matt stops me.

Matt: Alexa wait.

Alexa: No. I won't. Cause you know why? Because even when she was dying, she was still trying to change my life choices. And you? You were helping her. You are helping her. This friend's I have, they're not just my friends. They're my family. They were there for me when my mom wasn't. They were always there to protect me and we'd die for each other. I owe them my life. So I can't just walk away from that life. From the family I know they care for me, no matter what I do, no matter if I hurt them or even turn against them. I will always return to them. Always.

Then, I turn around and leave Molly's. I get in my car and drive away, not knowing where I go. Thinking of what I said to Matt, makes me realize that I have to get back home. Back to my family.

I push the gas and the car accelerates. I really have no idea how long I've been driving. I think I'm running circles around the city for like hours. 

Why did I have to leave? I shouldn't have left like that. Not telling them anything, just driving away. I shouldn't have gotten mad at Dom who lied to me. It was just a lie.

Tears start forming in my eyes and slowly falling on my cheeks.

I keep hurting everyone. And now what? I'll just go back like nothing happened? Everything's messed up.

I start sobbing at the thoughts and suddenly, as I drive I see two lights in front of me. I turn the wheel and because of the high speed, the car flips. The windows break and glasses scratch my face.

Next thing I know is that I'm upside down and a metal thing has gone through my stomach. My eyes start getting tired so I close them, letting myself fall in a very deep sleep.
