March, 17, 1980.
Spring turned out to be very close. For days the sun was shining and there was not a single cloud in the sky.
David and I were in the city of London shopping for some real new summer clothes. We were in a super chic store with girl bikinis with exaggerated colors..
I looked at the bikinis hanging from the show rack. "These are way too ugly, just disgusting." I whispered into David's shoulder.
"I think you're right, we'd better go to another store with real summer colors instead of this one." David said back in a whisper. I nodded and we walked to the exit door of the store.
When we walked out, there was a big surprise in front of us. A surprise we haven't seen in weeks
"David.." It was Jack, David's old manager. "Jack, what a surprise." Said David in an attacking tone.
I held on to David's arm because he seemed to be attacking. "Ignore him!" I whispered in his ear. We walked on, but Jack held David's coat in his hand. "Hey, stop for a second." Jack said sternly.
"Please Jack, for God's sake leave us alone." Said David angrily.. Jack looked at David with red eyes, "You'll have to pay me back with the things I've done for you." Jack said angrier.
David sighed deeply, "What exactly? You left yourself, and everything is your fault! Why did you always have to hit me, why did you always have to be so negative about me? Why did you always have to take it out on me at the last moments?" David screamed a little with deep anger.
I stepped back, people looked at us how David and former manager Jack were arguing with each other.
"I'm going to resign from my job, then I'll be your boss again, and then you'll do things I say. I'll be on your doorstep next month, understand Mr. Bowie? Goodbye." Jack said as he gave David a little push and walked away.
David looked angrily focused at Jack walking away down the street. I tugged on David's arm, "Come on honey, let's go shopping some other time." I said when I tried to distract David.
"I really don't understand what that man has on me." David sighed again. I looked at David and put an arm around his back, "He's too jealous of you, you're a star, he definitely isn't."
David held me tight. We were in the middle of the shopping streets of London. "Please protect me, Heather!" David said suddenly as he held my shoulders with both arms.
I held David's left hand and placed my other hand on top of it. "I do that every day honey, I'm so sorry this had to happen to you now baby."
David left Jack behind and didn't want to think about it anymore. He took a very deep sigh and looked at me with a small smile. "Come on, let's go home, I don't feel like it anymore." Said David with a sigh.
"I get it, we'll talk it out at home." I said as I held David's hand tight to give him extra love.
We got into the car, and on the way home there was a great silence between us in the car. I was most concerned about David's thoughts.
I was behind the wheel and David stared out the window for minutes, "Don't let Jack fool you, you don't need him." I said as I turned the radio down.
