November, 30, 1986.

One day later..

It was morning, and I woke up in my hospital bed to the sound of the little babies crying.

I sat up straight and looked to the left at David who was well asleep, thank God he was allowed to stay with me. I was so grateful to the doctors for that.

The babies were hungry, "Good morning dear angels of mommy, how you have grown in a day." I whispered quietly when I put both of them to my breast, they immediately started drinking milk.

Today was the day that the family could come by, finally I can show my two lucky gems to my parents.

David woke up and rubbed his eyes. He rose from the mattress and looked with just awake eyes at the twins who were drinking at my breast. "Good morning honey, how are you now?" David asked with a yawn.

"I'm fine, did you get some sleep last night?" I asked as I rubbed David's arm. "I do, you too? Are you still in pain somewhere?" David asked as he sat down next to me on the blue hospital chair.

"My cesarean wound still hurts a bit, especially if I move too fast, and I'm still tired." I sighed as I stared at the twins.

David massaged my wrist, "Today is rest day, I'll let you take a nap in an hour, I'll take care of the twins." Said David sweetly.

"That's very thoughtful of you sweetie." I said as I gave David a kiss. Coincidentally, a nurse walked in with breakfast, "Good morning new parents, do you fancy something to eat? And how are the babies? Were they able to sleep through the night?" She asked.

I looked at the twins who were still enjoying their breasts, "Archie and Elin slept well through the night, Elin was a bit hungry at five, then I fed her." I said. "That's good to hear that they are doing well, if you need help we are alert." The nurse said as she put the breakfast cart next to my bed.

"Thank you very much, it will be fine." I smiled. "Great, and don't forget to do your afternoon nap. Your body still needs to have plenty of rest." The nurse said as she lowered the twins' oxygen tank.

I nodded, "I will."

Suddenly my parents were behind the door of the hospital room. "Mother!" I said excitedly when I could see my mother a little. My mom walked into the room with my dad hand and hand, "My girl, I'm proud of you!" Said my mother as she hugged me.

The emotional tears came up again, I hadn't seen my parents for several weeks, finally, finally I could hold them again.

"David my wonderful boy, you have done well with my daughter!" My father said excitedly as he shook David's hand, David had yet to wake up yet a smile appeared on his teeth, "Thank you dear father-in-law! I'm so happy to have a healthy family now!"

"They are so beautiful, look at them what little ones." My mother said as she sat down on the chair next to my bed. "How was the delivery sweetie?" My father asked. I thought back to the moment, "It was quite tragic, the cesarean section went great, Archie was born healthy and cried right away, but when little Elin came out she was purple and she wasn't breathing." I tried to hold back my crying, I had to stay strong.

My mother quickly became emotional like me, I could already see the tears welling in her eyes. David lovingly over my mother's back, I looked at David comforting my mother.
