July, 16, 1980.
Sun shone in my eyes through the curtains, it was early. 6 o'clock in the morning, we were still in bed enjoying our long vacation.
It was hot in the bedroom, I wiped a drop of sweat from my forehead. David was still too far asleep, he didn't seem to notice the harsh heat in the bedroom.
I threw the blanket from my body, I exhaled. I almost melted. David also woke up and yawned. "Hey, good morning love." David said in a hoarse morning voice.
"Good morning!" I said awkwardly as I sat up. "You're up early today." David said as he rubbed his eyes. "Yeah, I'm sorry, but it's so incredibly hot here." I sighed.
David nodded, "I think it's already in the 20 degrees at the moment, the temperature doesn't even drop at night." David said as he got out of bed and walked to the bathroom. "Yes, you can call it a sauna." I chuckled.
I heard the tap turn on in the bathroom. I sighed and longed for a bath with ice cubes.
David came back into the bedroom with a glass behind his back, "Hey eh, now that we're awake. I have a fantastic idea!" Said David curiously. "What is it sweetie?" I asked when I wasn't paying attention.
"If I do this to you now, you must have an idea of what I have in mind." David said, still standing with a glass of cold water behind his back.
I got curious, "Then what??" I asked again. Suddenly David threw a glass of cold water in my face. "Aaah!" I shouted. "So? What do you think honey, did you guess?" David said with a laugh as he sat down on the bed.
"Swimming?" I asked as I rubbed wet strands of hair from my face. "Correct!" David said nodding.
I yawned because it was still early, "Ah that sounds like a great idea David!" I said excitedly as I lay down on his legs. "That's what I thought too, well, have you cooled down yet?" David asked. I nodded, "The water has dried up." I sighed.
"Maybe you should take a cold shower, maybe that will help, I want to get some sleep, if you don't mind." David stretched with a deep yawn. "Good idea, no it doesn't matter, get some sleep. I'll take a shower that will help." I said as I got off the big bed.
David rolled back into bed and kept looking at me as I walked to the bathroom. What a man full of surprises, a nice sudden cold glass of water in my face and a trip to the pool. Any woman could wish this.
I threw my sweaty t-shirt in the washing machine, never had it been so hot in the bedroom. Then I turned on the shower, on the lukewarm setting.
Lukewarm water flowed over my body, it was lovely in the early morning.
After feeling fresh and clean, I turned the shower off again. I grabbed the towel from the rack and dried myself nice and dry.
That was a lovely shower, I thought to myself. After drying off, I decided to read a book in a t-shirt while in bed.
I opened the bedroom door as gently as I could, David had fallen asleep a few minutes ago. I slowly opened the cupboard drawer and gently took out a t-shirt.
Time had gone intimately fast, by now it was almost half past seven in the morning. I carefully got into bed and took my favorite book from my bedside table, I opened the book and I was quickly focused on the story.
