"Strange", Romania mumbled.

But she actually liked what she was seeing. She had to admit that their housing system was quite different from whatever she was used to.

But then, she also felt at peace by just looking at it. It all just felt familiar to her, wildly familiar.

"What is this place called?", Romania said softly.

"La Guardia", a voice replied right behind Romania.

She turned to meet a petite older woman with white hair. She seemed composed and Romania liked how she carried herself.

She could already feel how powerful La Guardia probably was but she just couldn't figure out what specie they were.

She wondered if it was a school or something. But she loved how their houses were made of bricks.

"Come here my gr-

"Granddaughter" , Elphaba corrected.

She had realized the Ancient Mother was just about to slip.

"You're my grandmother?", Romania asked.

It was actually something she couldn't actually believe herself. When her parents had told her that they were sending her to her grandmother, it was all new to her.

But it was that or they wouldn't let her leave. And anywhere was better than being closer to Jasper.

She had never met any of her grandparents and suddenly she has a grandmother. And with her shifting abilities she could tell the woman wasn't even a wolf.

"Yes dear, I'm your grandmother Gaia", the woman said cheerfully.

"You're not even a wolf", Romania pointed that fact out.

Gaia inwardly chuckled at how observant she was. But then the girl was  even powerful in her mother's womb and so it was actually no surprise to her.

She was glad to have finally met her great-granddaughter. But here, she couldn't tell her the relationship they shared.

At least not under these circumstances. And she didn't know why they had not told Romania the whole truth yet.

"Or perhaps her witch abilities hasn't started showing yet", she thought.

"You're right I'm not a wolf. But I helped your mother once and I knew you when you were only a mere foetus. Let's say I'm your adopted grandmother", Gaia lied.

It wasn't completely a lie but then it wasn't the whole truth either. But this was what she had agreed on with the Alpha couple before Romania's arrival.

"Oh that makes sense. And thank you for having me here in your-

Romania paused as she tried to find a word for the place. She couldn't quite remember the name the old woman had mentioned earlier.

"Whatever this place is called", she chuckled nervously.

"It's lovely", she added as she cleared her throat.

Gaia was only amused and so was Elphaba. Her great-grandchild had indeed morphed into the exact replica of her grand-daughter.

"Glad you like it, it will take a while for you to adjust my dear", Gaia smiled.

"Oh and before I forget, here you go", Romania handed over the jade pendant Usher had given her.

She was actually curious about the jade pendant. It was a nice gem to keep, but it wasn't hers.

It had only allowed her access into the place but she couldn't keep it.

Gaia looked at the purple gem, admiring it once again. The pendant had been passed on from a mother to every daughter.
