Romania stared at her mother still in awe. She flipped through the pages of the book and she would never have thought her mom could write this impeccably.

She wrote just like the ancient authors did, using curvy lines and italics. If she could go to the human towns and publish it, Romania knew this could be it.

She didn't really understand anything in the book, plus she didn't want to violate her mother's privacy.

"Mom, this is beautiful", Romania acknowledged in a singing voice, handing the book over to her mother once again.

"It's a sad story and it breaks my heart. Your father had me send it here a few years back, because everytime I wrote something in this book, I lost myself"

"Then this Addie is really close to your heart, even I have come to know how much you miss her everyday-

Romania stopped herself as she saw the tears that shined in her mother's eyes. It still hurt her and this was something Romania had come to realize too.

She had never seen this side of her mother before, she looked too vulnerable. It was like for the first time in her life, she could see behind the strong facade her mother put up.

She spread her feminine arms and her mother like a little girl dropped into her arms, the tears really noticeable this time.

"I'm sorry mom,but you have to let it all out, the grief, everything", Romania tried to console her mother.

She patted Gabriella's back softly, like a mother controlling her toddler as it cried.

Gabriella pulled back, a throaty laugh left her.

"You're so much like Grey", Gabriella said as she wiped her tears with a tissue she found in her purse.

She held Romania's face in her palm, still amazed that the little girl they both raised, had turned out to be just like them, even when she wasn't their biological daughter.

Sometimes she was really scared of the future, because she knew secrets eventually got exposed.

" I have some traits of yours too", Romania smiled as she hugged her mother.

Gabriella pulled back and placed the book back where Romania took it from.

"Have to put it back, don't we?", Gabriella asked.

Romania nodded, even though she wanted her mother to take it back with her, she wanted her mother to continue and she herself wanted to read.

"Curiosity kills the cat", the familiar saying just popped in her head.

"I have a surprise for you, let's go?", Gabriella smiled.

She didn't even wait for Romania's reply, she simply dragged her out.

And what could the poor young woman do, simply follow her mother out.

"Already leaving?", Mrs. Smith asked the duo.

"Sadly Lydia", Gabriella replied.

"But Romania is going to be visiting quite often", she added.

Romania nodded. Ofcourse she was going to come back and curiosity will definitely kill the cat.

Malibu still stood dreamily, and as the mother-daughter duo left through the door, she continued to wave at their retreating figure enthusiastically.

Romania did catch that with the corner of her eyes. And even though she found the girl to be quite weird and annoying earlier, now, she simply saw her as an outgoing kind of girl.
