"Your Highness, word from the sea lions", Kirk handed over the letter to the mer King.

"Thank you", King Tristan smiled at the star fish that acted as a seal on the letter.

His tail swum back and forth as he read the letter. One of the Alphas had written to him.

Something quite rare. He was a man of importance but he didn't really have a cordial relationship with the wolves.

They were not of the same specie. The wolves could morph into both human and wolf whereas his kind could morph into human or half man, half fish.

But he got quite famous on land due to his business ventures. King Tristan did nothing for free as he was a business man.

When he traded a pearl, he wanted something more beautiful. So usually he traded his pearls for pixie dust from the pixies.

And so other than his kind, no one liked to do business with him.

His long auburn hair flew back in rage as he threw the letter away.

"Who on earth gave these wolves the audacity to crown themselves rulers over all supernaturals?", Tristan hissed.

His kind had ruled over the oceans for centuries. And suddenly one hybrid wolf Queen wanted to snatch everything from them.

Impossible.

"Your Highness, if the letter is correct, she's declaring war", one of the mer advisors read directly from the letter.

"And I'm giving her just that. We won't go down without a fight", Tristan laughed dryly.

He wasn't about to let some power hungry she-wolf take away everything he and his ancestors had worked so hard for. He just wouldn't allow it.

"But this Alpha Grey, if he tipped us off, he knows something we don't. And he said to find a safe place. What if war isn't-

"Enough", Tristan stopped him from saying more.

He had already made his decision and it was final.

"Summon the dream chasers, I'm going on land", he commanded as he made his way to his throne.

He had to meet this Alpha who had his interest at heart. Most wolves didn't even care for other supernaturals.

After all they were different from each other and he knew these wolves to be very selfish creatures.

And each and everyone of them he had encountered always proved him right. So this one was a first and he was grateful for it.

This was an act of kindness no one had shown the mer folks. Even the mer folks who loved to stay on land hadn't been fully accepted.

But that shouldn't have been the case since they were all different, special and unique in their very own way.

He watched his ministers and advisors file out of the throne room. He finally let his guard down and the worry climbed up his face.

Of course he was worried. Over the years, he had heard enough of the hybrid Queen that ruled the wolves.

She was causing havoc almost everywhere. She was already taking over the world and the reason his kind wasn't living in fear was because she had never shown interest in them.

Tristan was no God and so it was normal for him to be scared. But that didn't mean he was weak.

No.

Now was the time for him to join forces and pledge an allegiance. He was going to pick a side and he already did.
