'alright trouble.' Jack said putting her hands on the wheel.

'I cant see anything jack I'm too small!' she complained.

'nonsense.' He ran to get a crate and put it behind the wheel. He picked her up and put her on. 'better?' she could see everything now. That's why she always liked to go into the rafters, high above. She liked to be able to see everything since she was the smallest on the crew, well she had just surpassed marty but that wasn't saying much. 'alright now-'

'you teaching trouble the wheel jack?' gibbs questioned.

'Right I am. Trouble is gonna be my second in command one day. Shes gonna have to learn!' jack declared and trouble grinned, second in command. Wow. 'come on now...' he pulled out his compass. 'this is cheating because it always points the way we should go but its good for learning purposes. Keeps you headed in the right direction... but I wouldn't be a good teacher if I let you cheat now would i?' he put his compass away and gibbs pulled out his own handing it to trouble. 'alright, north, south, east and west.' He pointed in each direction. 'we are headed...' he spun her around ten times until she was in a fit of giggles.

"JACK!' she said laughing.

'which way are we going?' he questioned. She looked out at the water ahead.

'east.'

'how do you know that?' he questioned.

'because you told me the sun rises in the west and sets in the east.' She pointed at the sun fading away in front of them.

'good girl trouble you are already brighter than half this lot.' He showed her how much to turn the wheel, then he moved to the sails, showing her how to position them for best wind accuracy. 'use the wind to our advantage trouble. With the wind in our sails nothing can stop us!' he taught her everything so when the time came she was more than capable of becoming his second in command. She could have captained the whole damn ship.
