"Ouchhhh...." I whispered, sitting up and moving my damaged wrist. That's the second time this week I had rolled out of bed and fallen into the living quarters. Once I had grounded myself I slowly stood up off of the rough wooden flooring and brushed myself off. I could see the orange sunlight beaming through my window and dancing along the walls. I walked over to the window and looked out over the horizon, making note of where the sun was in the sky. I made it out to be about 6am. "It's too earlyyyyy!!" I groaned, making my way into the storage room at the back and gathering my clothes for the day.
I put on a red long-sleeved shirt with a black studded skirt and black tights. Making sure I didn't trip over in the mess, I tossed my sleeping clothes onto the pile in the corner. "I must do my laundry today." I made a mental note.
I brushed my teeth and did my hair into my signature two long, messy plaits. By this point my stomach was screaming at me to eat something as I had forgotten to eat dinner the night before. I pulled my black boots over my worn out socks and sighed as I pushed the door open, preparing my eyes for the morning sunlight.
I slowly made my way over to the great hall, where breakfast was, being careful to avoid any and all dragons. When I made it to the huge wooden doors of the hall, I pushed them open to hear the chatter of Vikings, talking about the day ahead.
As I made my may over the the breakfast buffet I felt a hand tap me on the back, making me step forward as to not trip over. "Someone's up early!" The voice boomed from behind me. "Morning Gobber." I said, giving him an unpleased look. "Was your bed on fire?" He asked sarcastically. I responded with an annoyed look. "Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed..." He laughed. "No," I said raising my eyebrows. "Someone woke up on the floor." "You fell out of bed AGAIN?" He asked, rolling his eyes. I replied by doing the same. "You really should let me build you a-" He began. "The answer is still no." I said, cutting him off. "Y/n..." Gobber said, giving me his signature 'dad' look. "I've been doing just fine up until now, thanks." I said giving him a sarcastic look and carried on walking to the buffet.
As I was walking I heard someone talking about a new island they were going to explore in a few days. I instantly knew who it was. Hiccup and his group of friends were always out exploring islands. I wasn't sure what they expected to find.
As I got to the buffet table I eyed up the food. Fish, bread, milk, the usual. I heard the big wooden doors of the hall open and shut again insinuating that someone had come in. I didn't pay any attention to who it was, until I heard someone say "Down Meatlug! Bad dragon!"
As soon as I heard these words I did a swift turn to see a dragon jumping up at the table to get the fish another Viking was eating. Not wanting to hang around any longer, I grabbed an apple and some bread and headed quickly towards the door, as fast as my feet could take me.
Before I could make my way out of the door I heard someone yell "Y/n!" "Hiccup..." I thought to myself. I turned around to see him walking towards me with a big smile on his face. What did he want? "Hello, Sir..." I said as he stood in front of me.
"God..." He said laughing and rubbing the back of his neck. "Don't call me that." "Sorry," I said giggling slightly. "I was wondering if you wanted to join me and the gang in dragon training!" He said excitedly. As I looked over his shoulder I saw Gobber watching our conversation unfold. "Did Gobber put you up to this?" I asked rolling my eyes. "Well..." He started "He asked me to try and get you involved but I was already-" I glared at Gobber over his shoulder and he gave me his 'dad' look again.
Hiccup looked at me as if he was expecting me to say something. "Sorry," I said bringing my attention back to the boy in front of me. "What did you say?" "Will you come to dragon training?" He replied, punching me gently on the arm. "Never gonna happen." I said as I gave him an annoyed look with a slight smile and began to walk out of the door. "But Y/nnnnnnn...." He said smiling. "Nooooo." I said laughing as I shut the door behind me.
