I woke up on the couch the next morning. I rubbed my eyes and looked around the slightly lit room. I quickly double took at the dragon on my floor. He was curled in into a ball and was fast asleep. He looked so peaceful. I actually touched a dragon. I was amazed.

I looked to my right and saw Hiccup sprawled across the floor, asleep. "Hiccup," I said nudging him with my foot. "Wake up." He groaned and sat up. "I'm on your floor..." He said slightly confused. I laughed at him. "Yeah, I think we fell asleep while studying." I replied. "Ah, right." He said standing up. "Well, good morning milady." He said smiling at me. There was something about the way he said that, that made all the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

We decided to get lunch together and kept taking about dragons. I had so many questions.
After eating a lunch of fish and bread, the usual, we headed outside to get some fresh air. I breathed in the afternoon breeze. The sun was up and it was actually quite a nice day. The sun tickled my skin warmly as we stepped outside.

Toothless came bounding after us. "I'm sorry bud." Hiccup said. "I should take him flying. He gets inpatient quickly." He laughed and Toothless tripped him with his tail. I laughed hard as Hiccup hit the floor. "Okay well, I don't want to keep him waiting." I said smiling at Toothless who gave me a smile back. "I'll see you when you get back yeah?"

"You could come with us...?" Hiccup said before I walked away. "What?" I replied. "I want to show you something. Flying is the only way to get there." He said excitedly. "I'm not sure, Hic..." I said hesitantly. "We'll go slow! And I'll protect you." He blushed at his words. The way he said it immediately comforted me. "Promise?" I asked. "Promise." He replied smiling.

I walked over to Toothless who gave me reassurance in the form of a smile. Hiccup climbed onto Toothless and held his hand out to help me get on. I hesitated for a second before he said "It will be okay. I promise." I grabbed his hand and he pulled me up behind him. As Toothless took off a wrapped my arms around Hiccup's waist and buried my head in his shoulder.

"It's okay, look!" He said after a while. I opened my eyes to see a rainbow of colours coming from above the clouds. It was magical. "Wow!" I said aloud. All my fear had melted away as I took in the beautiful hues of colours around me. "This is amazing!"

When we landed Hiccup helped me down off of the dragon and onto the soft grass below, looking at me expectedly. "That was amazing!" I said, spinning in a circle. "He's amazing!" Toothless gave a purr of happiness and I smiled at him.

"Okay, close your eyes!" He said. I stared at him suspiciously. "Please, trust me." He said seeing my hesitation. "Fine." I said closing my eyes and he lead me into the forest. After a minute of walking I asked, "Where are we going?" "You'll see." He replied.

Eventually we came to a stop. "Okay! You can open your eyes!" He said. I opened my eyes and my jaw hung open. It was beautiful! There was a cove in the ground that had grass, trees and a pool of water. The water was twinkling in the sunlight and the grass was a vibrant shade of green. The trees were gently swaying in the wind, as if they were dancing with the sun. It was stunning. "Wow!" I said after staring for awhile. "It's beautiful Hiccup!" I said smiling at him.

He sat on the edge of the floor, just before it fell away into the cove and patted the floor as a sign for me to join him. I sat down next to him, still staring at the amazing view. "I come here when I need to get away." He said smiling at me. "Get away from what?" I asked confused. "Well being the son of the chief is cool and all, until you remember that I'm next in-line and it's a lot of pressure. Not saying that I don't love it! It's just nice to be alone for a while, you know?" "I get it." I replied. "You do?" He asked staring at me. "Of course!" I replied. "Everyone needs to get away every now and then. We're only human. No matter how fun something is, it can still be exhausting. Everyone needs a place to come to cool down every now and then." I smiled at him.
