Me and Hiccup cuddled all the way back to Berk. I fell asleep, exhausted from all the fighting and crying. The sun had started to come up by the time we docked.
Hiccup POV:
"Hiccup." I opened my eyes to see that we were back at Berk. I looked down at the sleeping girl in my lap and smiled. "Hey dad." I said replying. "We should take Y/n up to the elder to get her leg fixed up." He smiled at me. "Oh yeah," I said gently nudging Y/n."Y/n. Wake up." She opened her eyes and sat up, panicking. "Hey! Hey! It's okay! You're safe." I said quickly placing my hand on her cheek. She took an exhale of relief. "Sorry for waking you Y/n but we really should get your leg checked." My dad said to her. "Oh, yeah." She replied standing up before almost immediately falling over again. "Are you okay?" I asked as I grabbed her to stop her falling. "I'm okay." She said smiling at me. I smiled back.
"I'll take her up to see Gothi." My dad said taking Y/n off of me. "I need you to go to the great hall and start the celebration!" I stood up and kissed Y/n on the forehead. "I'll see you in a bit." She said smiling again. I smiled back and made my way towards the great hall.
As soon as I walked inside everyone began cheering and trying to talk to me. "We're so glad you're okay!" and "You gave us quite the scare!" Were common phrases I heard. After I thanked everyone for their concern, I sat on the table above everyone else as it was for the chief and his family. As I sat there watching people chatting, laughing and smiling, my mind began to wonder. I couldn't help but think about what Y/n had said to me before the fire. How could she go from that to 'I love you' so quickly?! I didn't understand. I sat there thinking it over for a while, trying to come up with possible reasons. I couldn't. I started to worry that the only reason she said it what because she was relived to see me. What if she had meant what she said before the fire?
I needed to talk to her. I started to worry as I pushed myself through everyone and ran for the door. Everyone looked concerned as I was running, but I didn't care. I had to get to her. Now.
I ran to Gothi's house but Y/n wasn't there. If she wasn't at the great hall and wasn't with Gothi then where was she?
I saw my dad walking to the hall so I called for him. "Dad!" "Hey son!" He looked so happy to be back. "Hey, have you seen Y/n?" I asked hoping he knew the answer.
"I thought she was with you?.." he replied looking confused. "No..." I said back. "I'm sure she's around here somewhere." He gave me a reassuring smile. Before I went to walk away he said "Oh, and son. I need to talk to you later." "What about?" I asked itching to go find Y/n. "About your love life. Astrid? Y/n? I'm gonna need an explanation son." "You've got it dad!" I replied before running off to find her again.
I went to her old house. She wasn't there. I went to my house. She wasn't there. I went to the blacksmiths. She wasn't there. Eventually I found myself back at the great hall. Maybe she had made her way over here?
I pushed open the huge doors and walked inside. I looked around for a while before I found Gobber. "Hey Gobber!" I yelled over the loud chatter of vikings. "Have you seen Y/n?!" I had to shout to be heard. "Last I saw she was heading to the docks. I think she went to talk to Astrid." Shit, if she knew about me and her, who knows what she would do. "Thanks." I said, sprinting out of the hall.
Panic really started to set in. Where was she?! I ran down to the docks. She wasn't there either. "Shit!" I said as I looked around. I ran back up the hill of the docks and was about to go straight to Astrid's house when I saw her. She was sat on the edge of the cliff with Toothless. I smiled in relief and walked over to her.
When she saw me sit down next to her she said "Me and Toothless have been having a lovely chat." Laughing slightly. We stared out over the horizon as the sun came up and left an orange/pink glow on our skin. She looked so beautiful in this light.
Y/n POV:
He looked so handsome in this light. I blushed slightly at this thought. "God you had me panicking!" He said flopping backwards so he was lying in the grass. "Why?" I said giggling as I watched him lie down. "Gobber said you had gone to speak with Astrid. I got scared.""Awww, you worry about me???" I taunted him. "Shut up!" He said gently punching me on the arm. I laughed. "Yeah, I was going to talk to her about us because I wanted to tell her before she heard it from someone else." He didn't say anything, he just looked down at his feet. "Are you okay?" I asked and turned to face him, crossing my legs. "Do you really love me?" He asked leaning back on his arms and staring at the sky. "Of course I do!" I said looking concerned and moving slightly closer to him. "Why d'ya say that?" I asked, confused. "What you said before the fire..." he began. "I don't know.. it's stupid but I can't stop thinking about it."
I turned back to face the ocean and looked down. "Y/n?" He asked looking at me. "That's why I wanted to speak with Astrid before coming to you..." I replied. "What does she have to do with it...?" He asked. I sighed and looked out into the distance. "Talk to me Y/n. I want to help you." He turned to face me. I took a deep breath. I was sick of Astrid bullying me. It wasn't fair and I needed it to stop. Maybe if I warned Hiccup about it Astrid wouldn't be able to hurt him.
"Do you remember the day that we kissed..?" I asked him still avoiding eye contact. "I don't think I'd be able to forget if I tried." I looked at him and he smiled, causing me to blush. "Well the day after, I woke up and immediately got really excited to see you. I quickly got ready and ran out of the door. Your dad saw me and called me over. He told me that you were looking for me in the great hall so I ran there to see you, I was so excited." "What changed...?" He asked looking sad. "Astrid..." I began. "I told her to stay away from you!" He yelled looking angry. "Sorry, continue..." "As I was walking up the stairs she grabbed me and dragged me down the side. She pinned me up against the wall by my neck and threatened me. She said she would kill me if I didn't stay away from you. I told her that she couldn't threaten me and that I wasn't going to stay away from you. Then she started threatening you." Tears began welling up in my eyes. "She said we was going to kill you if I didn't stay away Hiccup! She said she was going to enjoy it!" He looked so shocked. He didn't say anything and tears began falling down my cheeks. "Y/n...." He said with a shocked expression on his face. "That's why you said those things? To protect me?!"
"I'm sorry..." I cried looking down.
"You better be!" A voice came from behind us. Astrid. "She doesn't need to be sorry Astrid!" He yelled standing up. "You're the one who needs to be sorry!" "No Hiccup. We were happy together before she came along! She ruined us Hic!" She yelled walking towards me. "Don't you dare call me that." He gave her an angry look. "You ruined us Astrid. You. Not her." Before I could think she lunged forward and hung my head over the edge of the cliff. She had her hand around my throat causing me to choke.
"ASTRID GET OFF OF HER!" Hiccup yelled running towards us. She pulled out a knife and held it to my neck, moving her hand.
