Chapter 15 -

Lucy POV -

Once we landed in Pheonix and made our way to the hospital I could see the worry brew in my dad. Nothing I could do would bring him any comfort, he needed to physically see Bella to see if she was okay. Dad informed me that mom would already be at the hospital waiting for us to arrive. We quickly arrive and dad rushes up to mom asking what the hell had happened. 

Carlisle and Edward had told my mom that when Bella left, they went after her to convince her to move back. They followed her to a hotel where she ended up falling down a flight of stairs and going through a window. I make no comment about having an incline as to what happened. I knew Jasper would tell me the whole story. Bella was still unconscious so we had to wait around. 

We ran into Carlisle who quietly told me that Jasper was in the parking lot. I asked my parents if it was okay to go and meet him. They were okay with it but were confused as to why he didn't come in. I made an excuse that he didn't like hospitals due to past memories. They understood, but mom really wanted to meet the man who had stolen her little girl's heart. 

She followed me out and Jasper instantly had a smile on his face when he saw me. I ran and hugged him, introducing him to my erratic mother. 

"Nice to meet you, ma'am," 

"Oooh he has an accent, you know how to pick them, Lucy. Hiya Jasper, thank you for making my baby so happy," my mom says excitedly. We all couldn't help but laugh at her reaction. 

"I wouldn't want her to be anything but happy," he says, to which I blush and hide my face in his chest making them both laugh. Mom and Jasper keep on talking and I can't help but feel elated that both parents approve of Jasper. 

I see dad making his way over to us and letting us know that the doctor had spoken to him. "Doc just told me that Bella most likely won't be awake and released for a few days," 

"So if it's okay with you Jasper, could you take Lucy back home. I trust you and I don't want her to miss any school." He asks.

"Of course, I have my car, so I can drive us back." 

Dad thanks him and I spend a bit of time saying goodbye to my mom promising to see her soon. I say bye to dad who gives me his house keys and tells me he will ring me when he is on his way home with Bella. 

Jasper leads me to his car and a wave of exhaustion hits me. "Go to sleep baby," Jasper whispers. He hands me a jumper and puts his hand on my thigh lulling me to sleep. 

TIME SKIP -

After over a day of driving, we finally make it home. I had rang dad asking if Jasper could stay the until he came by, he agreed and told me that Bella was likely to wake up very soon. 

I trudge my way to my house letting myself in. I quickly make myself some food and take it to my room. Jasper joined me and as I was getting ready to sleep, he told me what had happened. 

James had tricked Bella by saying he had mom, leading her to our old ballet studio. He attacked her and even bit her. Luckily Edward was able to suck the venom out in time and James was dead. When I asked about Victoria, he said that it would be likely that she would come for revenge for killing her mate. He tried to explain that to Edward, but as usual, he dismissed it. So for now, we'd have to just wait and see. By the time he had finished, I was seconds away from falling asleep. Jasper pulled me to him and stayed with me all night.

Bella POV -

Where am I? Where is Edward? I slowly open my eyes to see my mom's face in front of me. 

"Oh baby, your awake," 

"What happened?" 

"You don't remember?" I shake my head, but in reality, I did. 

"Baby, you fell down a flight of stairs, then you went through a window," 

I look at her with disbelief. "Sounds like me," I look around and see Edward 'asleep'. Mom follows me to where I was looking. 

"He hasn't left once. You picked a good one." She tells me with a smile. I smile back knowing I had the best boyfriend in the world.

"Is dad here?" I ask to which she nods telling me he's in the cafeteria. 

"Could you get him, I want to apologize," 

"First, I want to tell you we're buying a house in Jacksonville, oh Bella, you'll love it there..." 

I cut her off. "Mom, no I want to stay in Forks." After some back and forth, she finally lets me stay and makes her way to get dad for me. A few seconds after she leaves, Edward makes his way over to me. 

"Where is James?" I ask him.

"Dead. Victoria is still out there,"

I sigh in relief, knowing that I was safe. 

"You saved me," I say dreamily. 

"You're in here because of me," he says sadly. "Maybe you should go to Jacksonville with your mom, you'll be safer."

"WHAT! NO, YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME, YOU CAN'T!" I say in complete panic, I feel like my heart has been ripped out. He can't leave me, he won't. He loves me, I love him. I feel my breath get faster.

"Woah, Woah, okay, no Jacksonville," he says instantly calming me. 

"You can't say things like that to me," I say sternly. Mom and dad come back into my hospital room. I apologize to my dad, (not really meaning it). I found out that I'd be back in Forks before prom. Edward had already told me that he'd be taking me and Alice would lend me a dress. 

I couldn't help but think that I am now one step closer to immortal life. I am very annoyed at Edward for getting the venom out of my system, we could have been living our lives away from here, away from everyone...
