HARRY.

The sun was what woke me up. Well, that and Lucy. She was snuggled against my chest now, her tail every now and then brushing against my face, causing a feeling that felt like tickling across my nose and cheeks.

"Morning," I breathed out, giving her a quick stroke before turning over in my spot to greet Lily. My hand smoothed out over in front of me, expecting to be greeted with the outline of her body over the duvet. Instead, it was met with nothing, dropping down to the mattress, where the duvet lay flat.

"What the -" I chuckled, rubbing at my eyes. "Lils? You treating me to breakfast in bed?" I joke, calling out to her, trying to sit up. It takes me a few moments, but I feel myself starting to wake up more. She didn't reply, so I stretched some more, getting out of bed.

I gently held Lucy, placing her at the bottom of the bed before venturing out into the open living room, not able to see Lily anywhere. I wandered back into her room, knocking on the bathroom door .

"You in there?" I called out, but again, no reply. It was now that my heart started to race, and I felt myself becoming nervous. My mind flickered back to yesterday, and all of the events came crashing back down.

Oh.

Oh.

"Shit," I hissed, opening my phone and seeing if I had any messages. The main one that caught my eye was our group chat which had over twenty new notifications.

Hey guys, just to let you all know that I've resigned as your manager. You'll have someone new by tomorrow. She's lovely and she's called Victoria. Please make her feel welcome.

Lily left the group.
