sorry guys just another depressing chapter name (feel something by clairo aka my favourite song ever - would defo save me from vecna x)

APRIL 14TH 2022 - LILY.

I was going to call Harry tomorrow. It would be my third day in Guernsey, and it would also mark two months of us being official. A date like that never went over my head, and despite anything and everything I was going through personally, I was dating him and I still owed him a certain amount of respect regardless.

I didn't want him to think as if I'd forgotten about him, because I certainly hadn't.

The time I'd spent here so far had been good. It was as if time had slowed down where I was - I felt as if I'd been here so much longer than two whole days. Guernsey had done me the world of good, which came as a surprise to me because I thought being back here would bring up so many awful memories. To an extent, it did, but it also gave me a chance to fully feel them, and try and deal with them hands on so I could start to heal again. Properly this time.

I'd spent a lot of time sitting out in the driveway. It had been kept so nicely, and it had a beautiful view. We were on a hill, so even though we had a hedge and a fence, from my position I could just about see the sea from here. I wasn't too far away.

Tomorrow I was going to venture down to the beach, I decided. I would pack some food and sit on the beach and read for a few hours. Give myself time to properly unwind and relax. It was what I had needed.

I was still on the driveway when I heard a noise in front of me. I had my sunglasses on, it was a nice day in Guernsey today.

I sat up, adjusting my eyesight to the brightness. As I squinted, I saw a woman approaching me. At first, I didn't recognise her and felt a tiny bit scared, but I soon recognised her to be Sue Lewis, Harry's mum.

"Sue?" I called out, shoving my sunglasses off and jumping up from the bench. I hadn't seen her for ages, and this was a welcome surprise.

She looked confused, but happy to see me nonetheless, and I raced over to her to give her a tight hug.

"Lily. It is so lovely to see you again," she whispered into my hair, squeezing me tightly.

I then realised I hadn't seen her since my Nan had passed away. In fact, I really hadn't seen her for quite a long time now.

"You too, Sue. It's been too long."

"It really has. I know you're probably sick of hearing this by now, but I am so sorry about your Nan. She was an amazing person, and an even better friend. I've been replenishing the flowers on her grave since she passed away," she told me, pulling away from the hug.

"Oh, wow, thank you," I replied, taken aback by her act of kindness. "You didn't have to do that, but it is so thoughtful of you."

"I wanted to. For you and for her. Do you mind if I sit with you?" She asks, gesturing to the empty space on the bench that I was sitting on.

"Of course I don't," I answered politely, and I really didn't mind. It would be nice to catch up with her after everything that had gone on.

"So, how are you?" She asked, moments after we had both sat down.

I had no idea how to answer her question simply. I wished it was just a yes or no answer, but it wasn't.

"I -" I started out, but paused, trying to think through what I could possibly tell her. "It's been a difficult few months. I'm getting there, I think," I say truthfully, hoping my words would become true very soon.
