Chapter 28: Roxanne vs Bolt Part Two!

"Cradily, come on out!"

"Raichu, it's our time to shine!"

Both Pokemon immediately popped out of their Pokeballs, with Cradily spinning its head around as it looked straight at Raichu, analysing its opponent. Meanwhile, Raichu excitedly hopped up and down as it looked around at the crowd as if it was excited to finally be in the spotlight. Bolt shared that energy and yelled,

"Alright, lets start this off with a bang! Thunderbolt, full power!"

Raichu shined bright as sparks flew off its body, and it sent a concentrated beam of electricity straight at Cradily. Roxanne was quick to respond, however, yelling out,

"Stone Edge, to block the Thunderbolt!"

Cradily let its head go limp as it smashed the ground, producing spikes of rock that completely blocked the attack, and continued pummelling their way across the battlefield. Raichu still had plenty of time to move though and jumped out the way at Bolt's quick command. Then, as Raichu sat atop an unstable peak of the battlefield, Bolt yelled out,

"Alright, let's get in closer with Quick Attack!"

Raichu cried out happily from the rock it was perched upon, then squatted down on all fours. Then, it burst out onto the battlefield at lightning-quick speed, bouncing about and eventually crashing into Cradily with a powerful Quick Attack before either it or Roxanne could even think about acting on it. Still, as Cradily was knocked back, Roxanne commanded,

"Leech Seed!"

Cradily suddenly pressed down onto the ground, standing in place and spinning its head as microscopic seeds began to fly around the battlefield, landing upon Raichu's body. Immediately, the seeds wrapped around Raichu, not quite constricting it but definitely working on sapping Raichu's energy. Then, the energy formed a white ball which returned to Cradily, healing the damage dealt from the quick attack. Bolt sighed as Raichu looked disappointed to see the damage it did be completely irrelevant. Still, they persisted, as Bolt yelled out,

"Now, get rid of those leech seeds with Thunder!"

A thunder cloud suddenly appeared above Raichu, striking down on Raichu and burning the seeds until they were nothing anymore. Then, a line of lightning headed towards Cradily with questionable accuracy, as the attack sporadically jumped around as it ran across the surface of the battlefield. But, Roxanne did the same thing as she did in response to the Thunderbolt, shouting to Cradily,

"Stone Edge!"

Cradily once again struck the ground with its head and pillars of stone collided with the shocking bolts of thunder. But, unlike the interaction with the Thunderbolt, it seemed the pillars struggled more against the powerful streams of lightning. So, instead, the pillars came to a standstill, negating the attack but not stretching out to be of any threat to Raichu.

Raichu stumbled back from the sheer power of the Thunder coursing through its body, but soon shook it off and looked forward to the stone sat in front of it. And, now that the giant pillars were stuck in the way, it limited Roxanne and Cradily's line of sight. Bolt couldn't see either, but trusted that Raichu would know where to shoot, and yelled,

"Focus Blast!"

Raichu gathered a bright ball of light in between its hands, coloured orange like the colour of Raichu. It twisted in Raichu's hands as it siphoned power from itself into the focus blast, moulding it into one powerful attack. Then, it let loose the Focus Blast, initially going off course but then striking the pillars, breaking through them as if they were just pieces of paper in the path of the Focus Blast. Then, once the shattered pillars fell to the ground, Cradily couldn't do much to dodge.
