"LUCAS?!?", Ellie shouted from the top of her lungs as she and Seijo ran out of the Pokémon Centre. They ran through the entirety of Dewford, screaming out for Lucas to call back. But, nothing. No one responded with even a glance. So, they were forced to start asking around. If anyone had seen a young male trainer with black hair, black trainers. But, every time they asked, no one could give a response. It was like he'd disappeared from everyone's thoughts and memories, except for Seijo and Ellie. But, setbacks didn't stop them from searching relentlessly. They searched the entire island far and wide, asking as many people as possible. From the fishermen to the sailors to the ordinary people. But, nothing. Until...

"Oh, I think I remember a kid like that!", an old fisherman said as he cast his Old Rod in, then back out again, "He asked me for a rod, so I handed him one of my spare ones that were almost broken. Then, he ran off to the right down the cove."

"Great, thank you.", Seijo said, gesturing for Ellie to follow. They ran across the pale beach sands as quickly as they could, delving into the darkness of a cove, where the rocky creek cast a shadow over the sea. Then, just beyond the edge of the cliff, where the sun finally touched the shore. There sat a solitary bag, with a few footprints barely not eroded by the tide. Ellie ran over immediately, skidding onto the sand as she combed through Lucas' backpack, trying to find any note or clue to where he went. But, all of his Pokémon were still in there. Phone, spare set of clothes, Pokeballs, Potions, it was all there. He'd disappeared without even leaving a trace of where he went. Ellie stood up for a second, only to crash to her knees again, looking out at the horizon as the sun glared onto the ocean. Seijo placed a comforting hand on her shoulder, telling her,

"We'll get the police involved, they'll have dealt with cases like this before. They'll find him."

"R-Right.", Ellie said, grabbing Lucas' backpack and holding it close as they walked back from the shore...

The light peered out from the heavens. It was like the gracious hand of Arceus had finally blessed them after so long. Lucas climbed up the rusted and beaten stairs, finally reaching the final stair and basking in the sun after so long. It took a bit for his eyes to adjust to the sunlight after so long, but it didn't matter much to him. He was just so happy to finally get to breathe the fresh sea air. The Pokémon seemed to love to take it in as well, with Wingull immediately spreading its wings and taking in the open air. Corphish and Surskit chased after each other across the deck, playfully fighting with each other. Then, Tentacool pointed its tentacle to the ground, so Lucas placed down the bucket, allowing Tentacool to bask in the glow of the sun, taking in the energy through the crystals in its head. Lucas took a step back, watching the Pokémon play with a proud smile on his face. But, the smile soon subsided, as his stomach suddenly started to growl.

He hadn't eaten in what felt like weeks. Time was merely an illusion when you're on a ship with no idea what time it is other than the setting sun. But, Lucas could feel that at least a couple days had passed. He'd drank plenty of water, courtesy of the fresh water blasted from either of the four Water Pokémon, but no food for a while was really starting to get to Lucas. He knew he wasn't at risk of dying just yet, not even close as long as he kept drinking water. But, just having anything at this point would've helped. Lucas looked around at the various crates of imports on top of the deck. Maybe, there was some sort of import of food. It was a long shot considering every other part of the place looked cleared out but he had to try.

The boy made it through all the mounds of crates, destroying the hatches to the crates and watching the rotten wood door fold onto the floor. But, often times, it was just some old science equipment that had been left behind. It looked to be expensive too, but Lucas suspected if it was truly worth anything, it would've been taken when the place was cleared out. There was also mounds and mounds of paper in lots of the crates, no doubt for the amount of paperwork needed for the project and communication through the offices. There was even one crate filled to the brim with Pokeballs that looked ancient to Lucas' standards, being made of rough wood and rudimentary metal. Lucas, although disappointed at the lack of food, picked up a couple of them, although they didn't shrink down like the modern ones did so what he could carry was somewhat limited. Still, he did come up with an idea. He called all of them to him, rolling out a Pokeball each,
