A bright light shone down from the roof of the artic white building. It was a rude awakening, to see a ball of light right in front of your eyes. But, it at least woke him up. Lucas sat upright for what felt like the first time in ages, finding himself in a hospital bed. He looked around and found curtains all around his bed, which he swiftly opened up to find a doctor typing away on a computer. She smiled with glee as she saw Lucas finally awake,
"Ah, you're finally awake! That's lovely!"
"Where am I?", Lucas asked as he began to walk off of the bed, only to be gently pushed back onto the bed, with the doctor insisting that he took a sit down. He felt at the area that he knew had been burnt before, and found a giant bandage blocking any view of the burn mark. The doctor turned to the computer monitor and began typing about Lucas' status, then turned around again.
"Well, you're in Fallabor Town Pokemon Centre. I'm not a usual doctor here, but they brought in a few more people to help with what happened at Meteor Falls."
"Oh, right.", Lucas said as his thoughts began to scatter back to that day. He had no idea how much time had passed since that event, but the memories of the explosions played over in his head like they were just moments ago. Except, he couldn't remember much after he went through the trapdoor. Was he hit by a stray piece of debris, or something else? The doctor looked at Lucas and then asked,
"So, we're just looking for information about the event. I completely understand if you don't want to say anything, but we could really do with some information about what caused the attack."
"Well, I'll start from the beginning. Me, Seijo and..."
Lucas suddenly paused in between his sentence, as a memory suddenly dawned on him as he sat in the bed. The doctor waited for another person's name but didn't get one. Lucas immediately hopped off of the bed and began running down the corridor of the Pokemon Centre, with thoughts of her suffering from the poison playing through his head.
"Ellie!", Lucas shouted at the top of his lungs. He hoped that a response would come but nothing did quite yet. He looked through every room for any sign of her. His head darted left and right constantly. His body shouldn't have been doing this so soon after his bout of unconsciousness, but Lucas didn't care. Only one thing lay on his mind. Then, as he shouted for Ellie again, a response came back.
"Lucas?"
A room just to Lucas' right was open, to reveal Ellie standing by a doctor. A smile spread across Lucas' face as he rushed over to her immediately. Ellie held out her arms and both embraced each other, with Lucas exclaiming joyfully,
"Oh, thank Arceus, you're okay!"
"I'm glad you're okay too."
The doctor then split them up and said to Lucas,
"I appreciate that you guys are happy to see each other, but you're both still recovering. Just calm down."
The poison gas was hard to get rid of from Lucas' memories. He looked over to the doctor, who began typing away on a computer then pulled up a chair, signalling for Lucas to take a seat next to where Ellie was sitting.
"Alright, so you seemed to have some sort of reaction to this poisonous attack, right?", the doctor asked
"Yes, it only happened then.", Ellie said, then she found herself sputtering, a small amount of poison escaping her lips. The doctor sighed and said,
"Well, I wish we had news about to treat it. But, we, unfortunately, have never found a case like yours before."
"Never?", Lucas asked in shock as the doctor nodded slowly and continued to talk,
