A new day is dawning, the sun rising just above the sea. The trio were all up early to catch a boat they'd booked to get back to Slateport from Dewford. They could've flown there now that Taillow had evolved, but Ellie had some nerves about travelling for miles and miles above the ocean on a Pokémon that had barely just evolved. So, they settled on a boat, which none really minded at all. It gave them time to relax and plan on their way to Slateport. But, they didn't really have a clear objective for where they wanted to go after Dewford. Obviously, the gym badges still hung in their mind but they had a few different ways to travel around the region. But, it soon became clear that one thing was stopping them from travelling on the different routes.

Water.

It was everywhere.

Towards the right side of the region, it was almost all just a group of various islands or towns surrounded by water. While they did have Pokémon they could fly on, it wasn't as easy as just flying everywhere, especially over entire routes of water. They didn't really have any Pokémon that could surf through the routes either. So, they were rooted to the ground for now, making the decision much easier. Fortree City. The only problem was they'd have to travel up through Mauville again. But, it wouldn't be that much of a bother.

Just as they settled on Fortree Tree, Lucas received a call. His eyes lit up as he stepped out of the room into the corridor to take the call. Then, after two minutes, he excitedly walked back into the room, smiling as he exclaimed,

"Good news! Harry said he'd be able to join us for our trip up to Fortree City! You guys would be alright with him joining us, right?"

"Of course!", Seijo happily agreed to let Harry come along, while Ellie shrugged her shoulders and said, "I don't mind. He's your best friend, I can trust him."

"Awesome! We'll meet him at Mauville then."

"The ship will be docking soon.", a voice blared over the intercom, interrupting their conversation, "Please get ready to unboard the ship."

"Well that's convenient. Come on, let's get going.", Seijo said, slinging his rucksack over his shoulder. Ellie grabbed her duffel bag and Lucas readjusted his backpack. Then, as the ship came to a slow and gradual stop, they made their way to the exit of the ship. Lucas stretched his limbs as he got off the ship, smiling at the sun and saying,

"Well, let's get going! We don't want to waste a moment!"

"Right!"

Harry tapped the side of the Pokémon Centre window rhythmically, looking around as he waited for him to arrive. It had been quite a while since Lucas had responded to his message but that was to be expected. After all, it wasn't like Harry was sending messages to keep in touch. He just trusted they would try and get there as soon as possible. But, patience was never his strong suit. He'd been waiting for only a bit, but he was already getting impatient. Eventually, the waiting turned too much and he quickly typed out a message to Lucas,

How's the journey going?

Lucas responded with a picture of what looked to be the outskirts of Mauville City, taken from the monorail connecting much of the region to Mauville. The caption read,

About five minutes now, hang tight :)

Well, that was comforting to know. He wouldn't have to wait too long to get things started. Truthfully, he was ecstatic to get things going again and be able to hang out with Lucas. It had felt like forever, especially with Lucas hanging out at Littleroot for a pretty long time after what happened with Team Storm. He'd been training and getting strong while Lucas was busy, so it wasn't like the time waiting was wasted in any form. He just wanted to hang around for a bit.
