Approaching the end of Route 111, the trio were beginning to grow excited for the journey that lay ahead of them. After the long route of ashes scattered across the floor, it was going to be refreshing to at least be in a different sort of environment fro a little bit. But, a few yards away from the sign that said Route 111, was when things started to seem a bit off about the route. Sand blew from outside the route into Route 113, growing heavier as they all made their way closer to the sign and then passed the boundaries into the route.
The ground beneath them was still a bright green, yet the sand still blew heavily like it was a desert. Seijo looked at the grass and immediately alerted the group,
"There's something wrong here. This route is supposed to be grassy before it moves onto the desert."
"Maybe its just strong winds blowing the sand away?", Lucas suggested as he rubbed the sand out of his eyes but Seijo rocked his head from side to side,
"No, this is nothing that strong winds can do. This has to be a storm."
"So, what are we doing about it?"
"We keep on pushing forwards.", Seijo shouted back,
"That's crazy! I'm sorry, but isn't there anyone else who can help us?"
Just at that moment, a phone call came from Lucas' phone. He pulled it out, and a smile appeared on his face as he answered the call.
"Hey, Harry!", he exclaimed, "How are you doing?"
"Could be better.", Harry replied quickly as it sounded like a storm was blowing in the background. Lucas became worried and asked,
"Why? What happened?"
"Nothing serious. It's just this storm in Route 111."
"We're there right now. Do you know what's causing the sandstorm?"
"I heard some people in Mauville talking about how it might be a Pokemon. But, I don't wanna face a Pokemon that can cause this sort of sandstorm."
"Well, about that, why don't we meet up in the Route if we can. Then, we can try and take down the Pokemon causing the sandstorm from there."
"Sounds really dangerous, and I'm all for that.", Harry said as he grinned from ear to ear. Lucas smiled and said back,
"Alright, hope to see you soon!"
"Se-u- oon.", the audio from the phone crackled as the service got gradually worse until all that was left was static. Lucas placed down his phone and began looking to Ellie and Seijo.
"Well, there's one person who's willing to help us. Plus, this is just about the only way to Lavaridge."
"Alright, fine then. But, let's do it with caution, okay?", Ellie said, with both Lucas and Seijo nodding and moving closer into the storm. Seijo lead the way, while Lucas got closer to Ellie, as she appeared to be having much more of an issue walking through the sandy storm. She spluttered a couple of times, but Lucas was always there to support her when she did. And, she always seemed determined to keep on moving forwards, which Lucas admired, even if it was a little scary to see her cough so much. Seijo occasionally swiped at his glasses, rubbing the sand off of the lens. Then, one clump of sand in particular got into his glasses. Then, after he rubbed it off, he placed his glasses back on his head and spotted a solitary building in the distance that finally may act as some shelter for them. Seijo shouted behind,
"There's some shelter! Follow me!"
Lucas increased pace, grabbing Ellie's arm and running with her towards the shelter. The sand grew heavier and heavier as they ran, but they made it to the front door quickly enough. They threw the door open and looked inside. They found a family of three, a man, a woman and their baby daughter. The man yelled,
