The sun was rising over Route 120. Although, you still couldn't tell in the midst of all the fog. Even the sun rising far above the horizon couldn't shine through the thick layer of fog, merely making the fog lighter, but still clinging to the air like glue. Still, it was about time for Ellie and Seijo to continue their search. Ellie was already awake, having gotten a rough sleep, filled with plenty of breaks in between her slumber. So much so that she just decided to give up the last hour of sleep and get ready for the day instead, as well as write a few scattered thoughts in her notebook. Then, she heard the shuffling of feet just outside the tent. Alarm bells immediately rang in her head. She grabbed Swampert's Pokeball, holding it firm as she slowly shuffled to the entrance of the tent, unzipping it to find...an ordinary Pokemon.
"Oh, it's just a...Pokemon..."
She quickly realised that this was no ordinary Pokemon. White fur, blackened twisted horn that looked like a scythe, and was sharp enough to be one. Blackened claws on the end of its four feet, black tail. Ellie took a deep breath. She'd read about this Pokemon. But, its presence now made her even more nervous.
"The Disaster Pokemon, Absol...", she muttered under her breath, taking a cautious step back, only for Absol to move forwards again. "W-What are you doing here?"
Absol looked vacantly at Ellie, before looking past her at Seijo, who was still asleep at the back. It brushed past Ellie, gently waking up Seijo by shaking him with his paw. Seijo groaned as he suddenly awakened, almost jumping out of his skin when Absol suddenly appeared before him. He looked at Ellie and asked,
"Can I get an explanation?"
"Nope, it just appeared in front of the tent and wandered in here. And, I still don't know what it wants."
Absol looked back at Ellie, then looked at her open notebook on the floor. It wandered over, inspecting it closely, it's paw overturning the page.
"Don't touch that!", cried Ellie as she dived down, snatching up her notebook, and burying it into the bag. She held Swampert's Pokeball towards Absol, hoping to intimidate it with the threat of a battle. But, the Disaster Pokemon continued looking blankly in her direction. It looked to Seijo, then back at Ellie, its head tilting slightly to the side. Ellie's grip on the Pokeball held firm, however, exclaiming,
"Alright, what do you want? Nothing good ever comes around when you're here so you may as well tell us!"
"Hey, Ellie, calm down. It might have just stumbled here and it doesn't mean anything.", Seijo responded, as Absol looked to Seijo, an ever so slightly warmer expression coming over its face as it wandered beside Seijo. Then, it looked over at Ellie, as she scanned the Pokemon,
Absol: The Disaster Pokemon
Every time Absol appears before people, it is followed by a disaster such as an earthquake or a tidal wave. As a result, it came to be known as the disaster Pokémon.
"How can that not be a bad thing?", Ellie exclaimed, looking at Absol again. But, Absol seemed rather unbothered by Ellie's protests. It just wandered back outside, sitting outside and seemingly waiting. Ellie zipped up the tent, but it seemed to continue to wait there, it's shadow looming. Ellie looked at Seijo, taking another deep breath and asking,
"Any guess why it's here?"
"Well, the disaster has already come, so I don't think it's trying to warn us about anything else. So, maybe we should stick close to it."
"Do we have to? It makes me anxious, even if it turns out to help."
"Well, right now, we have no way to get out of this lake, nor to even find where we're supposed to go to get out of the route. So, I'm willing to take the chance."
