It's my graduation day.
I fixed myself narin dahil we need to go there early para di narin pansinin ng iba. Actually kabado talaga ako but I'm happy because we're complete. Di talaga ako binigo ng mga kuya ko.
"Are you ready?" my mom asked me.
"Yes mom." I answered.
"My beautiful dearest Sirene." dad called me and hug me din.
"Hi dad." I said and make a beso.
"So how are you today?" kuya Vinny asked.
"What are you feeling right now?" kuya Si also asked.
"I'm fine but I feel little bit nervous." I said.
"You can do it baba we're all here." kuya Sands said.
I just smiled to them. I really feel their supports to me talaga. We get inside the car I'm with my parents and my brothers are in the other car naman.
When we arrived to the venue of our graduation. I hesitate to go down the car pa pero dad hold my hand and I naramdaman ko naman yung feeling na bata ako na laging hawak ni daddy kamay ko.
"Are you okay?" kuya Sands asked and I just nodded.
"Inhale and exhale Si." kuya Si said.
"And smile like this ohh." kuya Vinny said and he smiled.
"We're here don't worry." kuya Sands tapped my back naman while kuya Si holding my hand.
Ganto nila ako protektahan at alagaan. Ramdam siguro talaga nila yung kaba ko and everyone is looking at us.
they assist my family to their seats and I go to mine naman. Hiwalay din yung parents ko dahil aakyat sila later sa stage for may recognization. I will also have my speech eto yung pinaghandaan ko talaga kagabi palang. Sana madeliver ko ng maayos just like my dad.
"Hi Sirene." Akira approach me.
"Oh hi Akira." I said.
"Are you okay?" she whispered.
"Yeah i'm okay." I said and smiled.
"You can do it." she said and grabbed my back.
"Thank you Aki." I said.
Pumila na kami in alphabetical dahil maentrance pa kaming mga graduates.
"Here's all the graduates of the batch 2009." the host announced.
And we all entered na and sat to our perspective seats. I saw my parents may sarili din nilang seat kasama yung ibang parents ng may mga honors and mom smiled at me and mouthing said "smile darling." with action pa so I smiled nalang narin.
The graduation ceremony begins and after few minutes pumila na kami na papuntang stages dahil isa isa na kaming tatawagin.
"Ma. Feliza Sirene A. Marcos with high honors." my teacher announced and I marched on the stage na and accept my diploma, I do bow and smiled.
And the program continues until the recognition part na kung saan tatawagin na yung may mga honors together with their parents.
Some staffs assisted us and nilapitan na kami ng mga parents namin yung may mga may honors dahil sasabitan kami ng medals. So kasabay namin silang mag march on the stage. I'm with my parents and their holding my hands.
"For our valedictorian for this batch 2009 graduates. Let's give her around applause Ma. Feliza Sirene A. Marcos with high honors together with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Marcos." my teacher announced and she also dictates all my achievements.
While my parents putting all my medals my mom whispering to me. "I'm so proud of you darling." mom said to me.
After that we thanked all the teachers on the stages and even some of the officials. Habang pababa kami ng hagdan my mom still holding my hand and dad tapping my back and he also whispered "You really did a great job baba. Thank you for making us proud." dad said.
Mom make a beso to me and dad kissed me on my forehead before they go to their seats because nag stand by muna ako because I have speech.
"Let's all welcome again our valedictorian for her speech Ma. Feliza Sirene A. Marcos." the host announced and I go up to stage.
"Good morning honored guests, School President, All faculty academic and supporting staff, Friends, family, and all of you, graduates, the class of 2009.
Congratulations! We've done it, all the hard work has finally paid off and we're all ready to take the next big step in life. I am honored to stand before you today and reflect on our collective journey in this school. The past years have certainly been tough, but now we are all here to celebrate our triumphs, our achievements, our victories and the journey on which we have all embarked toward our future destinations.
First, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to my teacher adviser Ms. Kane for constantly guiding me and supporting me in my academic journey. Thank you Ms for continuously supporting us and always motivating us to learn and being very kind to us.
I also express my gratitude to all the faculty members, for their kind help in mastering valuable skills and knowledge. You have played a pivotal role in molding our personality and constantly encouraged us. Without your support, we would not have made it to this point of life.
Thank you to Assumption College and all the staff for all your kind assistance and support. I would also like to thank Akira Lopez for being kind and friendly to me.
Finally, my biggest thanks are to all of my family, my parents and my brothers for supporting me and always being there for me.
Graduation marks the end of yet another extraordinary chapter in our lives. With this chapter closed, I am sure that many of us are already anxious about starting the next one because, unlike the textbooks, we cannot skip through the pages of life to see how long the next chapter is going to be. For sure, Assumption College has made this chapter of our life very colorful and unique. We have learned a lot in terms of academics, as well as from our friends who come from the very different parts of the world. All of us had different backgrounds when we entered here but we are leaving as the proud students of the same school with a common wish to be successful.
Often on graduation day we look outside for heroes but I am sure they are right here among us. I have seen in my years at Assumption College that we don't have to look far for inspiration and that we each have the potential to make an inspiring contribution to others, by being true to our values and committing ourselves to great goals.
When you leave here today, be proud, celebrate what you have accomplished, and look forward with an eye toward how you, too, can be the inspiration for others.
On a wonderful day like today, it's easy to be optimistic, but there will be gloomy days ahead. There will be days when you feel completely alone, and it is at those times when hope is most required.
You must promise me that no matter how buried it becomes or how lost you feel, you will cling on to hope and keep it alive. We must be greater than our suffering. My desire for everyone of you is that you become a source of hope for others. What better way to live than even if we fail?
I know it feels like we're saying our goodbyes, but we'll keep a bit of each other with us in everything we do from now on to remind us of who we are, and of we're meant to be.
This is only the fresh start or our next school life in high school.
Congratulations Class of 2009!" I said and smiled.
Everyone stand up and clapped. I saw my parents and my brothers they keep smiling and I see in their eyes how proud they are to me.
