Waking up at five am in Hawaii was not something that I could have ever foreseen but for my love of Dwayne and his culture, I would do it a million times. We are set to be married at nine am so I did not have any time to waste once my alarm went off as I had a whole wedding to prepare for.
"Where's Tiana at?" Mya asks as she gets her makeup done and I roll my eyes while taking a long sip of my drink. "Daddy's girl?"
"I even tried to tell her that I going to become a princess and she still insisted on being with her father." A small giggle leaves my lips. "I don't mind as it gives me time to focus on this moment and mentally prepare myself."
Mya looks at me strangely, "How does it feel knowing that you're going to be a married woman in a couple of hours?"
"It feels so weird." I grimace as the hairstylist starts doing the final touch ups to my hair. "I knew this day was coming but I still haven't processed that I'm going to be a married woman."
"This changes everything."
"The only thing that it really changes is the legal side of things." I respond before taking another sip of my coffee. "Dwayne and I already have a child, we share a business, we live together so that will still remain the same. We will now have legal standing over eachother's assets and properties so we set our boundaries prior to this so we could put everything down in a legal document."
"He better not have the right to take our business if you decide to divorce."
I roll my eyes at her, "He will keep the shares that he has so he can either sell them, remain on the board or step away. We have literally discussed everything with a lawyer and we do have a prenup set in place with some stipulations."
"Damn girl." Mya pops her lips. "If you guys divorce then you leave with nothing."
"We're not going to divorce, how about that?" I narrow my eyes at her. "Besides I'll get a big payday if we did since we have a child together."
Her eyes light up, "How much?"
"None of your business." I did not want to have a whole team of people in the room with me while I got ready simply because I wanted to have peace and quiet before the big day. Mya would not get ready in the room with the other women so I had to allow her into mine before she could start havoc.
Things have been pretty weird between us as of late as I don't think that she expected me to make it down the aisle. I will say that she has been behaving since we arrived in Hawaii but I can only hope that she will understand how happy I am.
I built a whole new life when she was locked up and I don't intend to give any of that up now that she is out.
"You look beautiful." Mya softly says as we both take in my appearance in the mirror as the hairstylist steps back and I notice the photographer snapping away at us. "I'm not going to cry."
