Lil Kim and I have been getting on fairly well but she has a better bond with my daughter. It doesn't hurt me as much as I thought it would just because I never had a desire to have that mother daughter relationship.
My mother broke my heart early on and that was enough for me. Mya was always the hopeful one who kept chasing after her until Lil Kim finally let her in.
When Maya first met my mother, I started to refer to Lil Kim as my mom which really changed the dynamics. She got very comfortable around me and after a week of calling her mom, I stopped. Thinking about it, Lil Kim hasn't done anything for me since coming back into my life.
Everything has been Tiana and that doesn't automatically mean that she is my mom. Sure, she is my mother but in no means does she deserve the title of mom because she has not been to me.

"She's perfect." Lil Kim comments as she smiles down at Tiana who is slowly falling asleep. "She's the perfect combination of you and Dwayne. Let's not talk about that head full of hair, you guys didn't have any of that."
I fake a laugh as I take my daughter out of her arms.
I carry Tiana over to the crib where I set her down before walking back to the sofa.
"When are you guys planning to get married?" Lil Kim asks and I shrug my shoulders.
"We haven't really discussed it yet because we're so busy." I sigh as I think of Dwayne who is back at work. Mya is two months old and knowing that Dwayne is back at work leaves me shook because I really have to step up.
I don't get to have as much free time because I don't have Dwayne here to help me or take over. Sure, Lil Kim is over but she doesn't have that motherly instinct which is why I don't expect much from her.
"Hmm..." Lil Kim nods her head. "Marriage is a big commitment."
"You don't have to tell." I stop her from giving a speech. "I already know and I am happy with my man."
