Grace

Okay, well, thanks for that cliffhanger Riley. I bet we freaked out the person we sent this recording to. To the people listening- or reading, I don't fucking know- we sent the recording to a trusted person in your time period in intervals. We probably freaked them out. So yeah. That was the first interval.

Anyways, you're all probably wondering what the heck was happening that night-

Riley? They can't hear a word you're saying! You're too far from the mic! Oh, shit...

Be right back guys!

Okay, phew. Got that taken care of. I won't say exactly what just happened, but let's just say the people we're running from right now are starting to find us. Looks like we'll have to tell this story way faster.

So, the night that blond haired person came into our window was chaotic. Riley fell asleep instantly, so I was completely alone in a new place. And it wasn't like I could just go out in the halls and explore; ya know? Whatever the Clave letter was about, it was serious.

I decided to try to fall asleep. After tossing and turning for an hour or so, I finally drifted off into sleep.

Flashes of the gold words that I saw during my test kept coming up.

The mother of the Saving Grace, weak, I saw a woman, with blonde hair and grey eyes, somewhere I didn't recognize, beaten and bloodied.

The Angel you shall seek, A drawing of what I think was Raziel- it was too blurry and came up too fast to know for sure- showed up.

The fire and the sun be With 'fire', a flash of red hair showed up only to be replaced with very blond hair.

with you on your quest, Three figures walked together.

And in the end, you will learn what is best. Nothing. Just emptiness.

I woke up in a panic. I'd basically forgotten about the words, but then it seemed like the most predominant thing in the entire world. It also didn't help that as soon as I awoke, a loud crash happened outside the window. I sat up, turned on the light- luckily the switch was right next to me- to see Riley sit up looking dazed and confused. I ignored him, though, and looked at the familiar figure lying face first on the ground.

"What the hell are you doing here?!" I yelled at the blond as he sat up and rubbed his forehead.

"Yes! I got the right window!" was his only response. He raised his hands in victory.

"Dayton, what are you doing here?" Riley tried asking.

"To talk to her," Dayton said as he pointed at me.

I got out of the bed and walked towards him. "Me? Why me? Actually, wait; back up. How did you know we were here?"

"I asked someone."

"Who?" Riley asked.

"Grayson."

"Dammit. Derek probably told him," I muttered under my breath.

"Yes, Derek told him. When would a Second in Command not tell his brother that people he knew were staying here?"

"Wait a second!" Riley looked like he had discovered the meaning of life. "You're a mundane!"

I rolled my eyes. "Riley Jonathan Fairchild, do you ever study your Codex?"

Riley gave me a blank look. "How is that important?"
